Saw a documentary on them a few weeks ago.
They have the equivalent of slave labor camps for those who do wrong and their intimidation tactics are incredibly sadistic

I remember his really defending them when the topic came up when Jet Travolta died. But he later saw the light:

Yeah, that’s me, and yes, I did defend the philosophy - if not the founder and the organization.
I publicly resigned from the organization six years ago, and in that time, my evaluations of the philosophy/practice itself have changed quite a bit. I no longer accept every bit of Scientology theory/practice/belief as being workable or valid.
Devout churchies would consider me to be a ‘squirrel’ - i.e., someone who alters Scientology practices.

Scientology is right up there with the Climate Change cult.
We watched all of the shows Leah did and I read a book recently by one of the folks who managed to ‘escape’. Weird as hell. Money maker though. Pretty sure admiral david miss-cabbage lives pretty high on the hog. Anyone seen Shelly Miscavage? No doubt L Ron is grinning looking down from the space ship.
I don’t know much about Hell but I’m pretty sure that it has an L. Ron Hubbard wing.

I watched her first season and also a separate HBO documentary that aired before her show started. I remember how actor Jason Beghe (an escapee) was embarrassed to admit that he used to believe their ridiculous BS. Hard to imagine any halfway intelligent adult signing up for it (which is probably why they attract so many actors).
