Peter Meijer wins 3rd District Republican primary, Michigan GOP says(Amash is done)

Peter Meijer won the Republican primary in Michigan's 3rd Congressional District. The Michigan GOP issued a statement declaring him the winner following reports from Gongwer and MIRS News.

As of 10:20 p.m. with 65% of precincts reporting, Meijer had a commanding lead of 50% of the vote over his top competitor, State Rep. Lynn Afendoulis. Meijer will face Democrat Hillary Scholten in November's general election.

I sort of met him when he was home on leave from Iraq or something, for the services when his grandfather Fred died. Seemed solid. Dunno anything else much about him.

From his wikipedia page, saw this:

“During the ArtPrize’s Project 1 dynamic art festival, Meijer refused to host Drag Syndrome, a London-based group that hosted drag performers with Down syndrome, at the Tanglefoot art venue, a property he owned.[1] Meijer said he had consulted various groups and that he believed that the performers were being exploited, stating to ArtPrize organizers that “[t]he involvement of individuals whose ability to act of their own volition is unclear raises serious ethical concerns that I cannot reconcile” and that the performances were to “further an activist message”.[1]”

Seems to have real good instincts, I just checked his wiki and he seems to have a real good background.

Grand Rapids is a solid conservative town.

If I was in Peter Meijer's shoes, I'd spend the last 3 months of Amash's congressional term trolling him endlessly. I'd set up daily "press conferences" from my garage and come up with some bogus "Office of the Congressman-Elect" with an official seal and podium, and announce "Since self-declared 'constitutional conservative' Justin Amash apparently has no problems at all with Joe Biden creating the Office of President-Elect, and he demands Trump concede immediately, I am following suit and hereby establishing the Office of Congressman-Elect. I am also demanding Amash help Michiganders come together and heal after his disastrous congressional career, and in order to do that, I expect he will be inviting me to attend all closed door congressional hearings and caucus events before January, so I am better prepared and informed about current events in Washington when I am sworn in. This is not about me, its simply a matter of national security and I need to be in loop about the outgoing Congressman's treasonous actions..."
