.THE WHITE HOUSE (Gray DC) - In a broadcast exclusive, President Donald Trump tells Gray Television Washington Bureau Chief Jacqueline Policastro hes ready to step in to provide another stimulus to Americans struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.
The plague came in, and its not the peoples fault. So, we want to take care of them, said Trump.
The president said he wants to extend the $600 weekly benefit to unemployed Americans.
-------Snip------
Jacqueline Policastro:
Do you think people on unemployment should continue to get the extra $600 each week?
President Trump:
Yeah. I want to get them. I want to get them a lot. It's not their fault. It's China's fault that this whole thing happened. We were setting records. We were doing unbelievable business. It was an incredible thing, we've never done so well. Breaking records on employment, on the stock market, although the stock market's almost what it was, which is pretty incredible in itself, but we were breaking every record you can do. And then this, the plague, I call it the plague, came in and it's not the people's fault. So we want to take care of them. Really good. Take care of them very well.

I think he’s dead wrong on this one. I think an additional stipend should continue, but it should be more on the order of $300 dollars a week, or maybe the GOP’s proposed $200. Does Trump think Soros is providing all the money for those laser pointers, guns, shields and power tools?
You must still balance the need for this stipend against the probability (JMO) that some of those checks are going into baseball bats, bricks, tactics, etc. I’d still drop it to $300.
Dropping it to $300 wont stop protestors
They’ll still have a smaller proportion of their own funds that they can use for their toys.
