In an e-mail sent by his campaign on Monday, President Donald Trump said wearing masks is “something we should all try to do.”
“Friend,” the letter opens, “I know how difficult the past few months have been. Your unwavering support during this time has not gone unnoticed.” But rather than push for a “contribution,” this time President Trump is asking his supporters for a different sort of help.
“We are all in this together,” the e-mail, signed by Trump, continued, “and while I know there has been some confusion surrounding the usage of face masks, I think it’s something we should all try to do when we are not able to be socially distanced from others.”

He still doesn’t wear one very often so it’s hard to tell if this recent conversion to masks is serious or whether it’s just a political ploy.
This is a stupid staffer thinking something cute, but clueless about how the base sees this mask farce.
Sounds like cancel culture, lol. You're not going to change your vote for this...however, someone else may change their vote to vote for him because of this. Don't want to wear a mask? Fine, don't. Easy. I don't, and I don't pi_s and moan about it, either.

This is NOT...unlike many State Governors:
"Wear a mask in any indoor public space"
OR
"Wear a mask any time you leave your house"
Keep your "social distance" or mask up. That is all.
And this reply is coming from a virulent anti-masker who sees the Mask as the Mark.

They have to defend our liberties. This is their job. They can’t if they are clueless. Cancel culture is to approach them and attempt to shut them down, to deplatform the campaign. I just am sick of their spam and adding clueless is just overboard. And, no, they don’t give me any choice, they offer fines and threats and arrest all to force compliance for something that risks my health.
SO, take your lecture someplace else. I’ve had it for those who apologise for incompetence. YES, they have something to lose. It was a stupid thing to say and this person should not be in a decision-making capacity for the campaign.
Speak for yourself. My family are staunch Trump supporters and this doesn’t bother us in the least.

Here’s the facts. In my large metro area we have a cummulative 9.8% positive rate. With a high of 14 during a nursing home n prison outbreak.
86 percent of our tests are neg. With single target positives you are talking higher than normal rates of false pos.
I see weekly recalls on covid test systems with erroneous results. Weekly.
Best test: do you have bilateral pneumonia.

But he gets a free pass, as usual.
The problem is that this is a lie. And, it is mind and population control and using vendor’s licenses to compel businesses to enforce what is not lawful. Your freedom is being stripped and go along is the only option they give.
Trump’s position is appropriate, wear them if you want. But, not forcing people. This campaign statement is support for those who wish to make all sorts of new demands based on their whims which are just as baseless.

Every time I hear someone on TV nag us about masks and "social distancing," because "we're all in this together," I feel like smashing the set.

But you have a nice day now.
Trump regularly does stuff that is inexplicable and pushes some people over the edge, thinking that he lost it.
Trump knows what he’s doing and every time he does something like this, we find out later what he was up to and it was brilliant, as usual.
I’m going to cut him some slack and reserve judg for the time being, until we see how this plays out.
Don’t forget, too, that the left opposes EVERYTHING Trump says or does. I’d love to see them oppose this. Or are they going to say that they agree with Trump snd Trump is right?
I am speaking for myself. But, I am fine with you sending money to china to thank them for this virus. Where do you think all of those little blue and white masks come from?
And when they tell you that you have to have your kid tested every two days to go to school, or when they tell you that you must accept being vaccinated with an unproven vaccine, then you will be fine with that because no one will listen when you want to say, no.
Trump knows nothing he says can un-scare the Karens at this point, and arguing Constitutional rights to people who lack even a third grade understanding of civics is a waste of time. He is disarming a major Democrat line of attack, and cannot really afford to do otherwise.
