President Trump urged Florida residents Tuesday to vote by mail, after months of criticizing mail-in voting as susceptible to fraud.
“Whether you call it Vote by Mail or Absentee Voting, in Florida the election system is Safe and Secure, Tried and True,” Mr. Trump tweeted. “Florida’s Voting system has been cleaned up (we defeated Democrats attempts at change), so in Florida I encourage all to request a Ballot & Vote by Mail! #MAGA”
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said the president “has always said that absentee voting for a reason is different than mass mail-out voting...”
Florida Republican officials have expressed concern that the president’s campaign against mail-in voting is suppressing the number of GOP voters who are taking part in it, while Democrats are voting by mail in large numbers.

They sure don’t; they’re idiots. I used to be in charge of elections in the ‘80s.
With Absentee Ballots, there’s a detailed trail with names, addresses, signatures, etc. One BIG problem, though, is that the voter’s name/signature is on the outside of the envelope. (At least it was in our state.) Unscrupulous clerks at Election Central could easily compare names to party affiliation on the voter rolls. Ballots COULD just disappear.
I can’t even imagine the idea of mail-in votes, with ballots sent willy-nilly far and wide. It would be like an election in a blender.
For the life of me, I can’t understand why anyone who is capable of voting in person would ever want to vote by mail. I would have no confidence that the vote will ever be delivered, received, and counted.
Whether your ballot has been received back yet at the election office is a public record - so the ballot harvesters can go door knocking with a list.
With all the election fliers I get every day, it is pretty clear to my mailman which party I am registered with. Anyone with any doubts about their mailman should drop their ballot off at the post office rather than leave it in their mailbox. Probably should anyway.
Remember, too: USPS is controlled by the Executive Branch.
Maybe each ballot should include a mini purple inkpad, to put the voter’s thumbprint on the return envelope? And the ballot include a return address sticker for that voter? Then, USPS could scan them (they scan all mail already) and link thumbprints to voters?
Then, do spot checks to verify authenticity and catch fraud.
Don’t like that method? Then go vote in person, as originally intended.
The state of Utah has been doing the same and they're as Republican as you can get.
It took ONE WEEK for my deposit to the bank to arrive..the bank is four blocks from me but I send it in don’t feel like going to the bank..took ONE WEEK..imagine how long it would take ballots to arrive and be sorted..I dont need anyone knowing who Im voting for so they can come here and kill me, no thanks..I will vote in person..if you can go to the market, you can vote in person
You have to request the ballot. They don't just mail it out to all registered voters.

Relying on the US Postal Service for our elections is a guaranteed cluster blank.
Requesting an absentee ballot is one thing.
Mailing millions of unsolicited ballots to dead Democrats is quite another.

The title of this article is very misleading.
For as long as I can remember Florida has had absentee ballots, if you were not going to be at your voting precinct or could not get there for some reason, you can get the supervisor of elections in your county to send you and absentee ballot once you prove your identity.....for example people with 2 homes or active duty military on deployment use absentee ballots a lot...
The mail in voting the democrats are talking about is to send ballots to everyone on the voter rolls, which would include dead people, people who have moved, etc...which opens up tremendous areas of fraud....
Absentee voting once your request the ballot and prove your identity is fine, the mass mailing out of ballots is totally different and dangerous...

I think absentee voting, other than for military and foreign service officers in Embassy’s should be abolished. This kills the snowbird double vote in Florida, Texas and Arizona.
Open the polls for 24 hours on election day. Declare it a public holiday so nobody has to work and nobody has an excuse. If you’re too sick, scared or lazy too bad.
No local or state issues may share the ballot with Federal elections. Yes, this adds cost and complexity but so be it.
The only things on the ballots should be President, congressional representative, Senator - PERIOD. This prevents confusing ballots.

Open the poles at midnight on election day in each time zone for 24 hours.
Collect ballots every 8 hours and take them to a central counting center. (This will keep city “X” from being accused of stuffing boxes.
Not the voting booth but the ID table where you pick up ballots must be streamed live for 24 hours. The view must include the voters face. This corrupt election judges from giving someone two ballots.
At 11:59PM the polls close. At that point the last ballot boxes are turned in AND NO MORE BALLOTS CAN BE ADDED FOR ANY REASON except a disaster (The voting location catches fire, tornado, etc. Nor can any poling station have hours extended.
Media may take exit polls but may not publish the results until all polls, nation wide close. Exit polling results must be labeled with words like: “Presumed, Polling suggest, Unofficial Results.” They can’t say we “Know candidate X won the election.”
No results are posted until all votes are counted. This means that East Coast returns will not influence West coast voting.
No electronic voting booths. All ballots must be on a machine-readable paper card.This removes the ability of technology to be hacked.
The counting center must have a LIVE video link showing ballots boxes being opened and placed in the machine to count. This cost next to nothing with the internet. Everyone should be allowed to watch the votes being counted.
All results are published/announced 12 hours after the final vote. The people in the counting center do not know the totals as they place the ballots through the reader. But, a computer can read those ballots and process the information.
Purge all voter registration older than 4 years. (i.e. Just like a driving license you have to reapply every four years -—— In person. Yes this will add to cost.
Abolish same day registration. Voters must be registered 7 days before the election and must present a valid SS card when registering and when voting. (Bang a lot of duplicate voting stops right there.)

So they cancel, and date, a stamp but not prepaid? I can see where that could cause issues.
Sorry. No ID required in Florida for absentee ballot. Just ask for it online and provide name, address and signature.
