Every journalist knows that a link from the Drudge Report is the ne plus ultra of online engagement, with the potential to send millions of pageviews to a single story.
But few reporters know much if anything about Matt Drudge, the press-shy media mogul behind the barebones news aggregation site he launched as a newsletter 25 years ago. Drudge, 53, has rarely been photographed, and he seldom speaks to the media. His last extensive interview, with Alex Jones, was just before President Donald Trumps election in 2016; he refused to appear on camera.
So it was no surprise that Drudge ignored Matthew Lysiaks repeated requests for an interview as Lysiak was working on a new biography: The Drudge Revolution: The Untold Story of How Talk Radio, Fox News, and a Gift Shop Clerk With an Internet Connection Took Down the Mainstream Media, which will be published on July 28. Lysiak, a former reporter for the Daily News, sent Drudge a billion emails and personally showed up at his properties in Florida and Arizona. He also sent certified letters.
Absolutely no response, Lysiak told Jewish Insider in a recent phone conversation from his home in Patagonia, Ariz.

I’m guessing there’s been quite a few men behind Drudge.
That was quick! :)
Enquiring minds want to know.
Drudge sold to a foreign buyer with a non disclosure agreement didn’t he?
Take this with a grain of salt, but the current Alexa ranking is almost 900 ( https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/drudgereport.com ), and it has been as low as 1,100 in the last 90 days. If I’m not mistaken, their ratings used to be in the 600-800 range. I have a pretty good idea of why the ratings are slipping.
Given how long it has been since Drudge was relevant, this book seems like it is badly timed.
No idea if the buyer was foreign or domestic, a corporation or an individual, but there was clearly a non-disclosure agreement. And his father’s long-running reference website was also part of the deal.
I’m sorry... I meant “ranking,” not “rating.”
So now that hes outed as a leftist, Drudge will be feted, written glowingly about, and hoisted on everyones shoulders as a hero...
BOOM! You win.
Does that title imply that a mysterious man is standing behind Drudge who is bent over grabbing his own ankles?
“Im guessing theres been quite a few men behind Drudge.”

He served under them in a variety of positions.
That’s a lot of disclosure for a non-disclosure deal.
I think I saw an interview of this biographer, who said simply that Drudge was only interested in Drudge.
He did have a radio show for a short while as I recall, so not sure whether he really is all that shy, or just tried to capitalize further and didn’t like it or do very well at it.
There is something to be said about raking in $100,000’s a year doing nothing but hiring some interns to generate witty headlines that link to other people’s work.
“Im guessing theres been quite a few men behind Drudge.”
HE-LL-O
Winner.
For those who can remember his short-lived show on FOX about 20 years ago — one look at him on camera and you know what the guy is about.
For those who haven’t seen his show, his fascination with all things, er... fecal should have been enough warning.
Repulsive degenerate.
Those who embraced him for political convenience are all the more disgusting.
The Drudge report is a nothing burger now. Too many people left. And I do not believe that Drudge owns or runs the site any longer.
More than a few in Sludge’s behind
I don't know what's happened to him in the last couple years, I've heard everything from he was essentially bought out by Google and paid close to a billion dollars to go left, to he and Trump use to be friends but had a real nasty dispute a couple years ago and Drudge has been hellbent on destroying Trump ever since. Who know?
