The whole point of trolling is to play into their worst fears. Get your opponent off balance and see what happens.
He has already joked about three terms.
Their hatred of him is unbounded - I don’t see any downside to messing with their heads.

This was a foolish comment. It doesn’t matter whether he was serious or just trolling as some have suggested. It is giving ammunition to the other side. There was no upside to saying something like this. That he would even joke about something so flagrantly unconstitutional is frankly disturbing.
Pres. Trump seems to take trolling the Dems as his primary task. I think actually governing the country should be more on his mind. Far too often he displays a smart alec high school brat persona. He has much more to offer than that persona and as POTUS he needs to lose that persona ASAP.
