Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) used his opening statement at Tuesday's House Judiciary Committee hearing with Attorney General Bill Barr wisely. He began right after Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) spent several minutes painting Barr as someone who blindly does whatever President Trump tells him and has worked to destroy the integrity of the Justice Department. Nadler was particularly upset after the Trump administration sent federal agents into U.S. cities that have been steeped in violence after the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd. According to Nadler, the DOJ is now just "a shadow of its former self."
When Jordan had the spotlight, he asked for a video to be shown. It began with clips of different media outlets referring to the riots we've seen these past few months as "peaceful protests." The video then cut to a presser about the death of retired black police captain David Dorn, who was killed during a riot in St. Louis as he was helping protect a local business.
The video proceeded to show other footage of rioters toppling statues, looting local businesses, and running over police officers. It was scary, scary stuff. I've included the video here but be warned it does have some graphic and disturbing footage.
Jordan then thanked AG Barr for working to restore the rule of law and speaking out against the Defund the Police movement. He added that the Democrats have "absolutely nothing" on him.
"And so all they got left is to attack the Attorney General who had the courage to state the truth right from the get-go," Jordan said.
Nadler complained that the minority did not give them a 48-hour notice that they were going to be playing the video.
Right. Because that's the main issue.
I heard Rush say that networks all cut away but CNN and MSNBC both showed the video. Andrea Mitchell and Jake Tapper later cried like coyotes.
Id go with lying down. On the plus side, hes far less likely to warp the floor boards that way.
One must truly puzzle over WHAT attracted Mrs. Nads to him (I note he wears a wedding ring and presume he’s taken a bride and not a “partner”). She deserves a Congressional citation (of some sort) for staying with that cretin and being able to take nourishment after maybe spending time with him (if she really does). He’s really a hunk, isn’t he!!!
“In August of 1999, Bill Clinton offered clemency to 12 members of the notorious FALN, the Puerto Rican nationalist group that had wanted to align with Cuba. The small group, who had no popular support on the island, had set off more than 130 bombs around the U.S. between 1974 and 1983 killing six and injuring scores more. It was eventually discovered that Hillary's advisers supported the scheme, wrongly thinking it would help her gain the Puerto Rican vote in New York.”
“The Clinton team fashioned that the terrorists sign a statement expressing remorse, but they all had refused to sign it, and then unbelievably were given a month to decide. As time was running out, both the House and Senate composed resolutions condemning Bill Clinton's action,”
“A day before the House vote, it was announced that 11 of the 12 who had signed the statement would be leaving numerous Federal prisons in just two days. On the day of the House debate and vote on September 9, 1999, Nadler took to the floor for six and a half minutes and defended Clinton's action as well as the FALN itself, saying there was no proof, even though at the time four of their members had been convicted of making bombs and a fifth had been convicted of killing someone with a bomb.”
“The group had also claimed credit for many of their attacks in communiques, including their deadliest attack at Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan in 1975, killing four and injuring 60, which also happens to be located in Nadler’s district since he had arrived in Congress in 1992.”

That’s SUPER.
Yours, TMN78247
I hope so. Charismatic and handsome!
FOX didnt cut away.
As I say, Nadler’s right. The videos you see are of the resurgent Molly Maguires, fighting for the rights of Irish miners. Those with the dark complection are the Black Irish. Nothing to do with BLM, which is all peaceful protestors.
After Pence’s second term. They’ll probably assassinate Trump some time in 2021.
I was just thinking the same thing. I’d like to see him as a potential nominee or as Speaker of the House.
POTUS tends to suck all the air out of the room. Hard for Pence to get noticed. Pence seems like an Ed McMahon to Johnny Carson. Will be hard for a Trump VP to get noticed.
No, thats the last thing Id wish for Jordan as ALL Republican speakers are trashed and it is the end of their careers. To become speaker is the kiss of death.
When Nadler’s coat is open you can see that the waist band of his pants is up to his arm pits. That makes him qualify as a dwarf
Jim Jordan is one of the (very few) good guys.
He’ll give a stirring eulogy at the funeral, and all the deplorables will get behind him. His personality is more muted than Trump’s, but that will be a selling point. Can the MSM really have a visceral hatred for someone who is quietly, but wholeheartedly religious? They’ll be off balance.
“I have a question. Is Nadler taller standing up or laying down?”
A pile of shit can only be stacked so high, so he’d be the same height either way.
Upside down.
Brilliant move by Jordan.
