Of course not, that’s private information and absolutely none of your business! To even ask such a question...

But as to the how this can be legal part, “The Daily News argues that the information can be turned over because of a state law – known as the SAFE Act – that declared “that names and addresses of all firearms licenses were public information.”

This is the same law that banned magazines holding more than seven rounds, pretty much outlawed evil black rifles, etc. etc. That is, the NY legislature specifically passed a law making names and addresses of firearm license owners public information.

Back when Clinton was president, they instituted a “registry” of sorts. You had to fill out a form that went to the FBI (yeah that FBI). He told the country that those forms were to be held for 30 days and then destroyed. Janet Reno concurred. The same Janet Reno and Eric Holder that killed a bunch of people in Waco.
