IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)-Dr. George Fareed finds success in treating coronavirus patients with a combination of a hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) cocktail made out of azithromycin or doxycycline and zinc.
For three months now, Dr. Fareed has been using the HCQ cocktail to treat patients at Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District and an outpatient clinic in Brawley.
"Hydroxychloroquine along with zinc and either azithromycin or doxycycline and it's based upon now many studies from colleagues around the world. It's shown to be an effective treatment and thats what we need," said Dr. George Fareed, physician.
Saving many lives who have been hit with the virus, Fareed says its all thanks to the combination cocktail hes prescribed to patients.
The uses of hydroxychloroquine for coronavirus has sparked national debate after studies have claimed that using it can lead to serious side effects. The FDA has also warned against its use, but Fareed says its a drug that doctors have been using for years to treat malaria, lupus, and arthritis.
We need to alleviate the fear in the population that they should know that they can take something that will help them avoid pneumonia and deterioration that we want to see stopped. I work at Pioneers hospital and as an outpatient medical director. Weve seen thousands of patients and our results have been very favorable," said Fareed.
Fareed has written a letter to president Trump and the presidential task force saying we need a drastic shift in our approach in fighting the virus.
Presenting his findings and of his colleagues who have found success treating patients with the hydroxychloroquine cocktail.
Fareed believes the HCQ cocktail is the answer in helping fight the virus.
We are not following whats been successful in other countries where the hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin zinc has been effective in reducing mortality," said Fareed.
"The perfect candidate is an individual whos symptomatic and has recently been infected and the best candidates of course are high-risk patients," said Fareed.
In the U.S. , remdesivir has been the treatment of choice for COVID-19.
Fareed says hes seen great success with hydroxychloroquine and will continue to advocate for its use in treating coronavirus patients.

I hope to see a Spandau Ballet conga line of “journalists” who aided and abetted the attack on the HCQ therapeutic treatment after this is all over.
Which is a lie. Lupus patients take it every day for years on end.
Someone pointed out on these threads that prescribing HCQ without zinc is like trying to bake a cake without baking powder.
Yet I keep seeing reports of studies that supposedly debunk the efficacy of HCQ. What do they have common? No zinc to go along with the HCQ.
Dr. Fareed seems to have the right idea.
HCQ & ZINC and antibiotics bump
Way to go doc!

Dr. Zalenko describes it best. He uses a gun analogy where HCQ is the gun (the transport mechanism) and zinc is the bullet (does the actual killing). Neither one alone will do you any good.
Quite right. Thanks for refreshing my memory.
I wonder if TX and FL are using HCQ plus Zinc?
Drs ,media and Democrats have kill thousands India has given 300000 does out to prevent getting the virus what in the hell is wrong with these frigging drs
Following advice I heard from a doctor on the Internet, I’ve been drinking tonic water with liquid zinc. Tonic water contains quinine, a component of HCQ. This may be only as effective as snake oil, but mixed with vodka, it tastes pretty good.
Recent Data for Florida Residents (Last 30 Days)
Note how despite 10K plus "positive" CV-19 tests the actual deaths are approaching less than 10 per day despite us being a "hot spot".
Actually FL is testing people up the wahzoo and CV-19 deaths are crashing - that's a good sign of course.
Throw in auto/motorcycle accidents with a death that tested CV-19 positive, among all the other "Normal" causes of death and I hope this mess is on the way out.
I'm O-Neg so I'll give blood tomorrow per usual but they say I'll get CV-19 antibodies results as well. My wife is diabetic and we're both 65 and change so it'd be nice to know we're "immune".
You can click on the FL counties to see various rates but one thing is clear - Southeast FL numbers/deaths where DIM northerners congregate are huge compared to the rest of FL.
I figure that a lot of DIM Yankees bailed out and went south so they took their diseases AND politics with them. Sigh.

Thanks so much for the ping.
But, the “media” keeps emphasizing how bad things are in Florida?
