Green lasers that the public can purchase would only give a burn to the fovea. This leads to perhaps a dark spot in the field of vision. This disappears as the brain adjusts to it. A hand held “green” laser has a rapid drop off in power over distance. Moreover the beam quality spreads and is not longer as dangerous with travel through the atmosphere
