Thick blue line:.... Surge in support for police, just 2 in 10 back ‘defund scheme'.....

In one of the first signs that a backlash has begun against police protests, a growing number of people are voicing their support for law enforcement, especially in their neighborhood, and shifting away from the “defund” effort sparked by the Black Lives Matter marches.

66% of adults said they oppose cutting the police budget in their community to channel money to social services, the scheme pushed by many liberals. That is up from 59% just last month.

57% of black people oppose defunding police in their home community. For whites, it's 69%, and for other minorities, it is 62%.

The Republican Attorneys General Association today focused on the crime surge in rapping Democratic state attorneys general for staying quiet about the defund movement.

They released a video criticizing those attorneys general and said in a statement, “Americans are less safe in Democrat-run cities because they refuse to protect citizens from violent crime and instead publicly urge the burning down of our country and cheer on the violent mobs.”

WE know many polls show Biden with a comfortable lead, but, as time goes on that should erode. This business of defunding police is a winning issue for Trump and Republicans.

The American people do not want to get rid of police. The American people do not want to cut funds for police, and give the money to some ill defined social program spending.

This can be a winning issue. Make Democrats and Joe Biden own this, that it’s THEIR political party which is perpetrating violence, and THEIR political party which is so extremist and totalitarian in ideology.

There are 24w (100w tungsten equivalent) blue CFL bulbs, great for the front porch, bright enough to still light the flag & yard.

Once again, remove the party label from an issue, by and large, even constituency groups that are the base of the Democrat party are opposed to the Democrat party position. Just like school choice, etc.

Only the lunatic fringe think that getting rid of police is a good way to deal with crime.

This is why Wallace came to Joe’s rescue during the Trump interview. Biden did express support for defunding the police. Get that into a campaign ad today.

Policing has a problem in the United States. We witness it everyday.

The police SOP controls them, and the police are an expendable pawn in the hands of politicians.

The police should be continued to be paid.. and paid well and should be all be under the control of the sheriff.. an elected official.

Remember when the 1980s and 90s Libertarians brought out plans and opponents said: “You mean if I don’t choose to pay the fire protection fee for the free enterprise company, they will put out the fires in my neighbors’ houses and let mine burn?”

So now what if the 20% who say they want to defund police never get their 911 calls answered but the 80% on their side do? Sound good?

Just tossing ideas around.

Meanwhile cops get dangerous objects like bricks thrown at them, get beaten, shot at and sometimes targeted for killing by ambush——while they work to protect the criminals in the cities like NYC,Portland, Seattle and CHOP areas.

Oh I think we do.....but it’s being put under enormous strain when political officials use them as cannon fodder or fails to let them do their jobs.

"Only the lunatic fringe think that getting rid of police is a good way to deal with crime."

That is it in one sentence. There is nothing to debate, discuss, spin, parse, complain, etc. I'm going to steal that line. I may change it to, "Only the communist fringe..."

Check out revcom.us when you get a chance. You'll find out who is actually behind all this chaos.

Anyone who believes the polls is a fool. The political polling process scheme is as twisted as the Covid count.

I'll bet the true number for blacks supporting police is higher... and that they don't want to tell the truth to pollsters for the same reason many Trump supporters don't tell pollsters they back Trump...(liberal intimidation...)
