I’m sincerely sorry for being a Tennessee redneck that has only seen two black people in the backwoods. I’m also sorry for saying that they don’t hang around in the woods at night. I thought that was just us rednecks.

I’m from the Boston area.
On a road trip to FL around 1992 we met some Florida guy and two girls outside a convenience store while buying beers very late at night,
He invited us to come along, took us to some jungle road in the middle of nowhere and lit a tire on fire....Right in the middle of the street.
Cops came eventually and we took off then he set another fire in what looked like the same place/street somewhere else.
How did we get away from the cop? My buddy drove right through the fire to get away.
I dunno..
It was a CRAZY week in Florida i got to tell you..
I MISS those old days.....

I don’t know what was with all the tire graveyards that I saw down there. There were roads that went right into the water in places. We once walked past a roadblock of derelict freezers and other appliances, shot full of holes. When we turned around and came back there were a couple of yahoos with holstered pistols setting beer bottles on the appliances in preparation for some target practice. I’m not sure that our car provided sufficient evidence that someone may have been down-range, or not. And there was a bridge on the backside of Homestead AFB that we had a bonfire on. That was all early ‘80s. A nutty place, to be sure.
I was stationed there for 3 and a half years. I’m sometimes surprised that I survived.
