This should be part of a Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement bill, missing since 1986 ONE TIME amnesty. Since that amnesty was granted already, a second amnesty is off the table. What remains is the enforcement the Democrats have disallowed since then.

The List of Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement, missing since 1986 goes like this -
1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population);
7) Set up an illegal aliens’ victim restitution fund.

Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport, and remove colonizadors from our welfare rolls.

We need to pass these protections in order not to make out Democrats as liars who promised the protection in exchange for a ONE TIME AMNESTY. The Democrats got the amnesty already. Now its past time for the protections we were promised.

That’s the trust the President is violating.

Lets get real.

NO politician d or r is going to send back people who arrived here 20 years ago at age 5 and been decent citizens the most part.

Weed out the criminals-send those back and give the daca pathway to citzenship after they prove their worthiness and love of country.

It all depends on what exactly ‘merit-based’ means. If it means no criminal record, able to pass the SAT and gainfully (tax payimg) employed, it might not protect a single dreamer. They don’t call them ‘dreamers’ for nothing.

Maybe if I put it in a way that didn't involve illegal immigrants you would be able to figure it out. Let's pretend that your lily-white parents whose relatives came over on the Mayflower raised you with a life of privilege (white privilege, of course). You live in a big home with servants, get a Lamborghini for your 16th birthday, are a charter member of Rich Kids on Instagram, etc. Then the Feds come one day and arrest your parents because every nickel they spent on you came as a result of smuggling in illegal aliens, sham marriages, Medicare fraud, etc. All the money is gone, the car is taken away and you get put into a lower middle class foster home where the parents don't give a toss about you and are only taking you in for the money.

Then some lily-white thieves activists start lobbying on your behalf. Little Napsie didn't do a thing. This is the only life Napsie has known since childhood. We think Napsie should get an apartment in Trump Tower, a Lamborghini, a nice allowance to maintain presence on the Rich Kids of Instagram and tuition to an Ivy League school. Napsie shouldn't be punished for the sins of the parents. But just to make it fair to the taxpayers footing the bill we will let Napsie keep all of the goodies but be monitored until after a PhD to make sure they are acting properly rich and privileged.

How do you think that would go over? After all, Napsie is just an innocent victim who has led a good life provided by parents who as it just so happens turned out to be crooks. Do you think Napsie would get a lot of sympathy? Does Napsie deserve special treatment? Why does substituting "American citizenship and getting to live in a country you never should have been in in the first place" for "lifestyles of the rich and the famous" deserve any more special treatment than my scenario?

I’ve always thought theres no way to get these people to now leave as the govt has bawsically condoned their arrivals. that said, I do not think they should ever be awarded with a path to citizenship. They are permanent green card holders... create a special class of permannt residents.

That is the most ridiculous example ever. No. It’s like this. A kid arrives through their parents at 6 weeks old. He works hard in school, gets a scholarship in college. Marries has two kids. Buys a home. Opens a business with 200 employees. And now you want him to leave the country? For what??????

My ridiculous example rivals your over the top reply. What percentage of DACA applicants came here at 6 weeks old and goes on to accomplish as much as you claim? Still, Trump wants a merit based system so your wunderkind can stay while the 98 or so percent who don’t meet the standard can suffer the same fate as any other child unlucky enough to be born into a criminal family.

Without work permits or access to public services. Maybe more if they turn in families to leave or be deported permanently. No chain amnesty or migration. And they must confess to all civil and criminal violations. Any new infraction leads to immediate deportation.
