It takes the deputy 11 shots to get the guy down on the ground, from a distance of about five feet. I don’t know if she was missing, or if the shots were ineffective. She starts shooting when he was about 10 feet away, and he closes to the point where it looks like he was able to grab her arm.
Around shot 7, he starts to slow down, but the first six shots did not seem to slow him down at all.
