I don’t get it with the lethal injection stuff.

How about explosives? If you’re going to kill someone, really kill them dead.

Or, how about carbon monoxide? Then blow them up. Or wood chipper while they’re out.

No, I agree. Why just put them to permanent sleep when we can make every moment of their day miserable? And why does this new protocol cause pain?

What is so difficult about using a general anesthesia that's used every day in medical procedures and then inject with whatever lethal drug? Compared to the awful ways people die every day, I consider that getting off easy.

Gee, Jamaican immigrant, bounced from one major firm to another

And then to “public defender”

What does that tell you?

A Jamaican-born Obammy DC Judge wants the convicted to have more time to appeal? Slick. Where’s Kamala Harris? Under Chutkan’s skirt? She’d probably pardon them.

Just shoot the f’ers! To pacify the hand-wringing liberals, knock them out with Sodium Pentothal first. Then apply 7.62MM to the head. The death penalty works every time it is used.

IIRC a particular execution protocol was reviewed and approved by SCOTUS a few years back..maybe 3 or 4 years ago.I can’t recall the state involved...but it doesn’t really matter. Why can’t all states...and the Federal government...use that protocol?

“Give him the opiods. There is no point in causing him pain on his way out. He will meet his Maker soon enough.”

He’s a criminal and sentenced to execution. Why should we be concerned about him being in “pain”? It seems he caused a lot more pain to his victims. Execute the criminal.

Remind me why we have district courts and circuit courts again - when a mere distict "judge" in the District of Corruption can over-rule a Federal Circuit Court of Appeals...

As Old Retired Army Guy posted, "I assume there will be an immediate appeal."

Appeal submitted 20 minutes after the lawless district "judge" Chutkan over-rode a Federal Court of Appeals...

As is the usual way, ClownBammy set us up the two-fer:

Peter A. Krauthamer [spouse of Tanya Chutkan] is an Associate Judge on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, appointed by the Halfrican.

Note that Chutkan and Krauthamer have different last names.

This is how it is done in the District of Corruption to hide the workings of the machinery from the peasantry...

The third drug stops the heart. But the first two drugs, sedative and muscle relaxant, are the exact same drugs they give to people about to go on a ventilator.

Am I confused about the law on this or is it just another rogue order? The appeals court said proceed. Did she delay it again for a new reason? It is hard to believe her stated reason has not already been ruled on by SCOTUS. Was the new reason filed before her court and were any of the 4 men sentenced in her district?

How can a district court judge overrule an appeals court and how/why does she have venue? Judges should only be allowed to rule on issues within their own district. Another thing that should have been fixed after the election, but we had Paul Ryan as speaker.

I am sure they can parse “jurisdiction” because they are lawyers, but enough is enough. A Judge in Hawaii should never be allowed to issue an order against the President in DC regarding a policy in border states. It is turning our nation of “laws” into lawfare and venue/judge shopping.

And acquaintances wonder why I voted for Trump over Obama’s 3rd Term? Judges & Justices, as simple as that! No matter what a Trump appointee may do, rest assured that the BEST Hillary appointee would do far worse!

“The scientific evidence before the court overwhelmingly indicates that the 2019 Protocol is very likely to cause Plaintiffs extreme pain and needless suffering during their executions,”

So he cries, then he dies. Then it doesn’t matter.

What’s the downside again?

Chain gangs but make it “voluntary” and I’m sure you’ll get some prisoners to sign up.

Does the headline mean that it has been seventeen years since an execution has been delayed?

Because that’s what it says.

I think one of the lower court judges tried to over rule a Supreme Court decision recently.

Most moderns are fine with a quick exit for condemned criminals. That is no longer the issue at all, it is the almost complete frustration of the death sentence itself, as a fitting punishment. 20 years from conviction to death is absurd and the product of obstruction by opponents. The sentence should be carried out with sober respect, but it SHOULD be carried out.
