WASHINGTON The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled by a 5-4 margin that nearly half of Oklahoma is an Indian reservation in the eyes of the criminal-justice system, preventing state authorities from prosecuting offenses there that involve Native Americans.
The decision was potentially one of the most consequential legal victories for Native Americans in decades. It was written by Justice Neil Gorsuch, a Westerner who has sided with tribes in previous cases and joined the courts more liberal members.

SCOTUS now says that is a no-no. The Indian must be tried by Indian Courts.
I wonder what happens when the Tribal courts return
a death penalty?
What about the gauntlet?
Indian justice?
I wish it couldve been half of New York or California or even Illinois.
I own a quarter section ranch in SE Oklahoma. The county voted about 81% for trump. This ruling will not change that in any way.
The Indians cheated in the Senate election in Montana which caused Democrat Jon Tester to be elected which gave us Obamacare.
If the Indians cheat on the election in Oklahoma, who will punish them?
The Indian courts?
Reservations should form the 51st state—Sequoya
Reservations should form the 51st state—Sequoya
Reservations should form the 51st state—Sequoya
if they vote the way they have in the past and decide to cheat.... they would be cheating for Trump.
Yes. I believe you have that in hand.
they’re citizens of the usa.

Supreme Court Just Gave Back Half Of Oklahoma To Native Americans, Leftist Judges Uphold 1866 Treaty. Under the ruling the state of Oklahoma has no right to prosecute you for crimes.
In a 5-4 decision leftist members of the court and Neil Gorsuch upheld a treaty dating back to 1866 in order to restore Native American jurisdiction over eastern Oklahoma, home to nearly 2 million American citizens.
This would put Tulsa on a Native American reservation and outside of state jurisdiction.
If this doesn’t ignite people to get vote Republican this November nothing will. In the event Trump loses to Joe Biden and he appoints more leftist judges expect precedent to be set giving up more territory to the Native Americans.
Some were The Trail Of Tears...some were already living there.
Just to go back to the Indian law I cited. Most, if not all, Indian treaties in the US are incomprehensible, even irrational, and have long needed to be renegotiated. Right now, many reservations have near primitive living standards for the simple reason that there is no federal business law that applies within.
Again, in Oklahoma, many oil wells are leased, with lease payments going into Indian “trust funds”, with little or no accounting, which means billions of dollars has been grafted off by corrupt BIA officials. Finally when the courts forced the BIA to surrender the documents about it, the BIA just shredded them instead to hide the evidence. All the courts did was to cite the BIA heads for contempt, with a fine of a couple of hundred thousand dollars in fine.
So, steal a million and get fined $10 and an oral reprimand.
Mind you, some presidents in past have wanted to reform the BIA, but they quickly gave up and passed it on to the next guy. No doubt President Trump would want to do something about it, but he could not get any momentum unless the SCOTUS went in and stimulated everyone else first.
Like this bit with OK. The SCOTUS is more than away that their decision is intolerable, but it will finally force congress and the president to act.
The decision was authored by a justice appointed by President Trump.
All Indians are subject to federal income taxes. As sovereign entities, tribal governments have the power to levy taxes on reservation lands. Some tribes do and some don’t. As a result, Indians and non-Indians may or may not pay SALES taxes on goods and services purchased on the reservation depending on the tribe.
Thanks , interesting map.
