This advice mainly works on Slavic languages and more so on Russian because people are so used to bad language spoken by different minorities that they learned to understand it without grammar.
If you’d try it with German nobody would understand you.
I have seen last a month ago. He is rather risky lately. I thought something might happen to him on African and South American tours.
Although he might have ‘fallen into a blue hole’ in Belarus. Hope he won’t become an alcoholic, the place is a sort of hotel California for that matter. You may live and party 24/7 there on $400 a month.
