They don’t pay us enough is what I hear. It is difficult to calculate the cost of moving men and weapons to Germany & S Korea and maintain all that. Plus the local economies there benefit from US soldiers spending money there.
Even if Germans & Koreans pay us enough for all the hidden costs of maintaining troops abroad, we don’t need troops all over the world. It is a bad precedent. Our military is called DEFENSE not OFFENSE. Defense is for homeland.
