Under the terms of the bill, the commission would recommend a new flag design by mid-September, with Mississippi voters okaying or vetoing the design on Nov. 3, the publication reported. This was voted on by the people once before and it was voted down with about two to one margin .So if they don't get the vote they want this time they'll be back until they do ?

“Mississippis state House of Representative on Sunday passed a bill to remove the Confederate flag from the state flag, with the Senate expected to pass the measure later today.”
And this, on a Sunday. There was a time not long ago that a state politician would not be caught fishing on a Sunday. Now, Sunday is just another day to do the work of Cesar.
Apparently George Soros and his hirelings called up members of the legislature and told them to get their ass up to the Capitol and vote overturn the previous vote of the electorate. Like, right now.
I have doubted polls showing weak public support for President Trump. Now, I'm not so sure.
When this many people in Mississippi, of all places, are scared to offend the over dogs, how many people are going to take a risk to buck the system in November?

The lower chamber voted 91-23 to remove the symbol from the flag...
At least it was a close vote.

The sad thing is after all this drama and virtue signaling with removing flags, changing supposedly offensive words, yanking down statues, taking over city blocks, painting BLM on streets, renaming facilities,noose hoaxes,reparations demands,and defunding police, not one thing will have changed when it comes to black crime, black poverty, black illegitimacy, simply because we are too cowardly to man up and address the real causes that lay, not outside, but within the black community, to wit, illegitimate children,no fathers in the home, little value for education, etc.

If their flag was so bad and so racist ... the obvious question is how could they allow it to fly over their state for over hundred years? It would seem the mob would ask that and want more.
To: yesthatjallen
The left can fly the anarchist Antifa flag with impunity.
They can fly the marxist BLM flag without criticism.
They can fly the rainbow flag in the face of children and people of faith.
They burn the American flag.
But the right dare not fly a confederate flag or else they’ll be called racist.
It’s especially disheartening when our elected leaders support the left’s agenda.
To: yesthatjallen
So the city of Vicksburg has not celebrated the Fourth of July since it was captured by General Grant. Will it be racist if they dont celebrate it now?

As usual, the LAME STREAM MEDIA got it WRONG !
HC 79 Mississippi House Concurrent Resolution 2020 Regular Session passed the
House 84 to 35 with 1 not voting.
It passed the
Senate 36 to 14.
Here's the text of the Bill
House Concurrent Resolution 79
MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE
2020 Regular Session
To: Rules
By: Representatives Gunn, Johnson, Karriem, Faulkner, Paden, Hines, Dortch, Denton, Mickens, Foster, McCray, Harness, McGee, Williams-Barnes, Jackson
House Concurrent Resolution 79 (As Adopted by House)
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION SUSPENDING THE DEADLINES FOR THE PURPOSE OF REQUESTING THE DRAFTING, AND THE INTRODUCTION, CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE, OF A BILL ENTITLED "AN ACT TO ESTABLISH A COMMISSION TO REDESIGN THE MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG; TO PRESCRIBE THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE COMMISSION AND TO PROVIDE FOR ITS ORGANIZATION AND MEETINGS;
TO PROVIDE THAT THE DESIGN FOR THE MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG RECOMMENDED BY THE COMMISSION SHALL NOT INCLUDE THE DESIGN OF THE CONFEDERATE BATTLE FLAG
BUT SHALL INCLUDE THE WORDS "IN GOD WE TRUST";

TO PROVIDE THAT THE DESIGN FOR THE NEW MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG RECOMMENDED BY THE COMMISSION SHALL BE PLACED ON THE BALLOT IN A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020;

TO REQUIRE THAT THE SPECIAL ELECTION BE ADMINISTERED BY MEANS OF BALLOTS CONTAINING A COLOR PICTURE OR DRAWING OF THE DESIGN FOR THE MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG;
TO REQUIRE THE SECRETARY OF STATE TO PROVIDE THOSE BALLOTS TO THE ELECTION COMMISSIONERS OF EACH COUNTY;
TO AMEND SECTIONS 23-15-351 AND 23-15-355, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CONFORM TO THE PRECEDING PROVISIONS;
TO REPEAL SECTION 3-3-16, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROVIDES THE DESIGN FOR THE OFFICIAL FLAG OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES."
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN,
That all the deadlines and other provisions imposed by Joint Rule No. 40 are suspended for the purpose of requesting the drafting, and the introduction, consideration and passage, of a bill entitled "AN ACT TO ESTABLISH A COMMISSION TO REDESIGN THE MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG;
TO PRESCRIBE THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE COMMISSION AND TO PROVIDE FOR ITS ORGANIZATION AND MEETINGS;
TO PROVIDE THAT THE DESIGN FOR THE MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG RECOMMENDED BY THE COMMISSION SHALL NOT INCLUDE THE DESIGN OF THE CONFEDERATE BATTLE FLAG BUT SHALL INCLUDE THE WORDS "IN GOD WE TRUST";
TO PROVIDE THAT THE COMMISSION SHALL MAKE ITS RECOMMENDATION FOR A DESIGN FOR THE NEW MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG BY SEPTEMBER 14, 2020;
TO PROVIDE THAT THE DESIGN FOR THE NEW MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG RECOMMENDED BY THE COMMISSION SHALL BE PLACED ON THE BALLOT IN A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020;
TO PROVIDE THAT IF A MAJORITY OF THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS VOTE FOR THE NEW DESIGN,THEN THE LEGISLATURE SHALL ENACT INTO LAW THE NEW DESIGN AS THE OFFICIAL MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG;
TO PROVIDE THAT IF A MAJORITY OF THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS VOTE AGAINST THE NEW DESIGN, THEN THE COMMISSION TO REDESIGN THE MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG SHALL RECONVENE TO RECOMMEND A NEW DESIGN FOR THE MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG TO BE PRESENTED TO THE LEGISLATURE DURING THE 2021 REGULAR SESSION;
TO REQUIRE THAT THE SPECIAL ELECTION BE ADMINISTERED BY MEANS OF BALLOTS CONTAINING A COLOR PICTURE OR DRAWING OF THE DESIGN FOR THE MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG;
TO REQUIRE THE SECRETARY OF STATE TO PROVIDE THOSE BALLOTS TO THE ELECTION COMMISSIONERS OF EACH COUNTY;

TO REPEAL SECTION 3-3-16, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROVIDES THE DESIGN FOR THE OFFICIAL FLAG OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI;
AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES."
Now that being what they voted on, they way they worded the bill, they give no chance of keeping the Mississippi flag the way it is now.
... TO PROVIDE THAT IF A MAJORITY OF THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS VOTE AGAINST THE NEW DESIGN, THEN THE COMMISSION TO REDESIGN THE MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG SHALL RECONVENE TO RECOMMEND A NEW DESIGN FOR THE MISSISSIPPI STATE FLAG TO BE PRESENTED TO THE LEGISLATURE DURING THE 2021 REGULAR SESSION;

These cowards don;t give a damn about what we the citizens of Mississippi really want.
They just want to get the "Flag Controversy" off of their plate.
We really have a sorry bunch of politicians in Mississippi.
