Washington Gov. Jay Inslee announces misdemeanor charges for people who don't wear face masks

“I think of these face coverings, in some sense, as a statement,” Mr. Inslee said at a press conference, People reported. “It’s a statement that when you wear it, it means you care about people, because it means you want to reduce the risk that you are going to infect another person.”

Mr. Inslee said the order requires people to wear masks in indoor spaces as well as outdoor spaces if social distancing rules cannot be followed.

“Willful violation of this order is tantamount to a misdemeanor,” he said.

Many of the county sheriffs have publicly commented already that they will not criminally enforce this worthless order, only ‘educate’... it is really designed to shame businesses

Doesn't the legislature have to pass a law with penalties?

How can the executive arbitrarily declare a misdemeanor and a penalty? Why not just make it a day in jail, or a week, or death?

So you threaten people to stay locked down inside their homes and wear a mask plus stay 6 feet apart from other people when going outside or suffer the rather of government. This was REQUIRED to save lives! Close businesses, prevent activities, etc rules.

Then BLM and Antifa started protesting and rioting. NO MASKS, NO 6 FEET APART, but the was OK!

Now Covid-19 cases are increasing due to the BLM and Antifa activities. So who get punished? The Law Abiding citizens of course, not your ginned up protestors who rioted!
