Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Port-au-Prince, Haiti (June 21, 2020)
Location: Petionville, and potentially other areas of Port-au-Prince
Event: There have been public calls for protests on economic and social grievances in Petionville and other areas of Port-au-Prince for Monday, June 22, and Tuesday June 23, 2020. The protest routes and times are currently unknown, but the Haitian National Police (HNP) is aware and has alerted their officers, including those serving at the Petionville HNP Commissariat. The Embassy will provide updates as needed. Out of an abundance of caution, effective Monday June 22 at 0700 hrs through Wednesday, June 24 at 0700 hrs, all U.S. Mission personnel are restricted from travel to Petionville.
Actions to Take:
Avoid the area; Avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people; Do not attempt to drive through roadblocks; and If you encounter a roadblock, turn around and get to a safe area.

The greatest French foreign accomplishment of the last 250 years is getting thrown out of Haiti.
Every charitable loves to donate to Haiti, Doctors go down there and work pro bono, while that may be nice on the surface, it has the effect of stifling any chance of developing a working economy. Why grow your own food if it’s donated? Why study and work to become a doctor, if Doctors come from outside to work for free?

You gotta feel bad for the Clinton Foundation. I looked it up. Donations in 2018 were only about 1/3 of what they were in 2015. I wonder why. Could it be that the 2015 donations were actually bribes, and those bribes dried up when Hillary lost in 2016?
