Cotton blasts Roberts over DACA, invites him to resign, run for office

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., said Thursday that Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts should resign from his position and run for office if he “believes his political judgment is so exquisite” after siding with the court’s liberal wing on two key decisions this week.

Roberts, who was criticized earlier this week by some conservatives for siding with the left-leaning justices in an LGBT rights case, wrote the opinion on Wednesday on why President Trump should not be allowed to end the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA.

“John Roberts again postures as a Solomon who will save our institutions from political controversy and accountability,” Cotton, according to the Federalist. “If the Chief Justice believes his political judgment is so exquisite, I invite him to resign, travel to Iowa, and get elected. I suspect voters will find his strange views no more compelling than do the principled justices on the Court.”

What are they hanging on too. We feel no fear. But I think they do?

Roberts is a closet homosexual and scared spitless that he’s going to be publicly outed. He’s probably being threatened with some pretty damning pictures.
Actually he and his BBF need to be doxxed and plastered all over social media. Better yet, get the nasty pics and make em public. Humiliate the SOB to the point where he recluses himself and steps down. He’s in too high of a position to be compromised that much. He needs to be gone.

Looking to the future, I think that Sen Cotton is presidential material.

I’m trying to think of it from his side. Right now he gets all the benefits of getting to write new legislation for every contentious issue that comes up, with none of the downsides of having to actually govern or be held accountable in any way, or even follow the law. Running for office sounds like a real loser compared to being the Judge Emperor.

Roberts is exactly what and who W knew he was and wanted him to be. Remember, W called Clinton his Brother from another Mother.
W and his wife have been seen on several occasions cavorting with Obama and Michelle.
W, never spoke a word against Obama for 8 years but, he has spoken against President Trump several times.
All of this was predictable. W, Roberts, etc...are The Swamp. And, The Swamp is mobilized against President Trump and US!!!
President Trump has told us all again and again, they hate me because I am in the way. Who they really hate is YOU!!!

I think this is wrongly placed blame. I’m no fan of Chief Justice Roberts but it seems the prevailing opinion was that the Trump administration did not properly void the executive order. I’ve said this of many failed efforts by the administration that they’ve done things half-a55ed too many times. I wonder here if the then in place folks undermined Trump by not doing this right? Was it set up to fail?

No Sen Cotton, Roberts is not a Solomon...

Solomon made decisions based on what was good for his country...

Roberts is an enemy of our country...

Overall, President Trump’s administration just needs to follow the rules as the court expects to end DACA. They didn’t say he couldn’t, just that he needs to follow established rules to do so. JUST DO IT! (And do it right this time!)

A better jurist was interviewed for the job by 43 (Mike Luttig) but the administration had a beef with him...so we get Roberts.

There is a WHOLE lot to like about the man, to be sure.

I hope he can get some executive branch experience (state or federal) to flesh out his military command credentials

Oh, bulls—t. That procedure argument was just contrived as a cover for a predetermined result. It they hadn’t cooked that up, it’d have been something else. I don’t believe for one minute that the administration “doing things half-a55ed” is the problem here AT ALL. Roberts and the liberals were going to reach this same result hell or high water. The bottom line is that this is an absurd, indefensible result (i.e., what Obama did by executive order can’t be undone by Trump’s executive order), so they had to manufacture something, anything.

Somehow the fact that DACA is unconstitutional slipped by the Court. Surprise! Surprise!

I think Trump should call Robert’s bluff, and resubmit the Executive Order for abolishment of DACA, just as the SCOTUS has ruled. Supposedly, not enough legal hoops were jumped through. Do it. John Eastman of Stanford said that this could be done by the end of July. Do it Don!

The good news here is people are awakening to the corruption and destroying the institutions we trusted.
I had an easy time explaining this to one of my care givers, a nurse type. She was out raged.
