Black-owned businesses more likely to shut down for good after pandemic, research shows

KANSAS CITY, MO -- New research shows black-owned businesses are more likely to shut down for good after the pandemic.

The disproportionate number of black-owned businesses closing will lead to a disproportionate number of black people unemployed. That’s because we know people hire people who look like them.

Experts say this is a product of systemic racism.

Black-owned businesses have less access to capital and are more likely to be denied business loans.

To fix these problems advocates say there should be policy changes to address the inequities.

But, a survey from April found that more than 60% of black business owners said they would not be able to retain their employees if business were not back to normal by mid-June.

Experts say we can expect to learn more about the full impact of COVID-19 on small businesses in the next 3-6 months.

Why did all these minority owned businesses in cities that had massive rioting and looting and destruction close?

AP: It’s horrible how combined systemic racism and covid-19 destroyed their livelihoods. Just horrible.

but it is ok when black, perverts and muzzies do it...............

Personally, I am a BIGOT. I discriminate on behavior. I don’t care about the color of skin or what hangs or does not hang between legs.

The Left does not want successful, private-sector businesses.

Such might actually provide a model and method for blacks to escape dependency on government.

Black-owned businesses have less access to capital and are more likely to be denied business loans.

My (multiple) relatives who run their own businesses don't flash their money. They put everything into the business, buy top-quality work clothes but nothing for show, and drive a used car until it dies. That's what I did with my business (I had top-tier suits, but those were my work uniform) too for more than a decade. If black business owners want access to capital, they can (1) save, and (2) not set up in riot/looting/arson zones. No sympathy here.

To fix these problems advocates say there should be policy changes to address the inequities.

Their theory is that systemic racism exists. They believe that the whole socio-economic system tilts against blacks. Of course, actual evidence for this is hard to find. The law says you cannot discriminate. And although unequal outcomes can be identified, the actual racism that generates those unequal outcomes is hard to find. That's why they talk about "dog whistles". They depend on stuff you cannot hear and cannot see, and, for them, this undetectable stuff is sufficient evidence to prove that systemic racism exists.

Thin stuff.

And the solution? Why, the solution is to create an socio-economic system that tilts explicitly and obviously in favor of blacks and absolutely against whites. Because that sort of blatant, codified discrimination would make everything OK.

I bet a lot of that was because people burned the businesses to the ground in the riots. It appears a disproportionate number of people murdered in the riots are black people, including a former NFL Player, a Police Chief and others.

Forget what ‘experts’ say, blame it on ‘systemic racism’ is just lazy journalists not doing a good job professionally.

While this article may be playing the race card, the underlying facts are exposed. In a recession, and the covid shutdown is in fact a recession of business activity, marginal businesses fail.

The fact revealed is that the black businesses are disproportionately marginal. Failure is a part of being in business. Lessons learned by failing lead to better business and success.

The learning process is disproportionately among black businesses because there are more black entrapraneurs gaining the experience that results in success.

simple. FakeNewsMSM should demand an immediate end to all lockdowns/shut-downs, given they were based on fake data.
however, FakeNewsMSM have been the cheer-leaders for the economic destruction. they should apologise.

it was not the “pandemic” that caused the problem.

The media has deemed that black/minority business owners get loans so they can default on them and walk away without penalty.

If black businesses are more likely to shut down, how about it gets blamed on the black mayor who kept them shut down instead of racism.
