Former Republican President George W. Bush is reportedly not supporting President Donald Trump for reelection in 2020, people familiar with his thinking told the New York Times.
Bush is just one of many well-known Republican politicians who do not plan to vote for Trump, the NYT reported. Bushs brother, former Republican Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, is reportedly on the fence regarding who he will give his vote to, people familiar with his thinking noted, according to the NYT.
It is not immediately clear why Bush wont vote for Trump in 2020. The presidents response regarding recent police brutality protests and how he has handled the novel coronavirus pandemic are reportedly reasons why some prominent Republicans wont be backing Trump.

Other Republicans who reportedly wont be voting for Trump this year include Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, Arizona Sen. John McCains widow Cindy McCain, and former Secretary of State Colin Powell, the NYT reported. Powell has been vocal about not backing the current president, saying on CNNs State of the Union Sunday that he cannot in any way support President Trump this year.
It is not known yet if the Republicans opposing Trump plan to vote for the presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden. (RELATED: Bush Office Thanks Trump For Support Amid State Funeral)
Freddy Ford, a spokesman for Bush, said he will not be involving himself in the 2020 election, the NYT reported. Bush only plans to speak on policy issues, such as when he recently noted that America has to examine our tragic failures regarding race.
Are you still trying to defend the Bush open borders/amnesty policies designed to turn the USA into North Mexico?
If you have some problem with people who don’t like Bush, that’s your issue, not mine.
that makes sense!
I'm surprised.
I would have expected Bush to be a back-stabbing insider rather than openly move to the other side.
Blah Blah Blah yada yada yada bitch bitch bitch
I think he has been pussy whipped by his wife, who wants to think she holds the reigns on what the Bushes see of do, and who they cavort with and what status in the Democrat establishment that brings her.
“I think he has been pussy whipped by his wife,”
We should include his two lib daughters, too. All three of the women in his life are pro-abortion whack jobs.
I picture dinosaurs knee deep in a SWAMP. Not understanding that extinction is near. GWB, the human punching bag President, is PW by his 2 LIBERAL daughters and wife.
DISGRACEFUL.
Anybody ask him why the US is so dependent on other countries for things like PPE? I blame W and HW and their illegitimate family member Bubba and BO. How many other products have been outsourced?
En espanol, por favor.
I’m ashamed to have voted for Bush.
Por que?
It’s all about daddy Bush’s plan to turn the USA into North Mexico.
We wouldn’t vote to subsume the USA to the UN for their New World Order so they are importing people who will.
Ashamed to say I voted for GWB twice - all I can say now is he was better than Gore/Kerry.
Revenge for the family is more important than what’s best for the country. Such small, small people.
Imagine if Reagan had picked a different running mate in 1980.
Should have gone with Laxalt.
He was a bad President. Refused to name the enemy. Globalist traitor. Friend of radical Islam.
We in is globalist family are largely responsible for our problems of illegal immigration and the continuance of abortion.
ALL of them.
Trump is reversing that trend.
Key phrase: “people familiar with his thinking told the New York Times.”
Anonymous sources=lies, IMO.
Instinctively, I didn’t think the anti-abortion Bush would vote for Hillary or Biden, but would probably hold his nose and vote for Trump.
Politically, it would be stupid for Bush to tell the NYT this.
Bottom line: I don’t believe the NYT.
