Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said on Thursday that he is placing a hold on two of President Trump's nominees, saying the administration provided an "inadequate response" to his questions about the firing of two inspectors general.

Grassley is placing a hold on Christopher Miller's nomination to be the director of the National Counterterrorism Center over the firing of intelligence community Inspector General Michael Atkinson.

He is also placing a hold on Marshall Billingslea's nomination to be the undersecretary for arms control and international security at the State Department for the ousting of State Department Inspector General Steven Linick.

Grassley said he will keep his holds in place until he gets an "explanation" for Atkinson's firing and "sufficient reasons" for Linick's.

Wasn’t one of those “inspectors” an Obama appointee?

I wish the president had cleaned house starting in January, 2017.

That said, Grassley is an ass.

“I wish the president had cleaned house starting in January, 2017.”

One of the reasons for the impeachment threats was to prevent Trump from cleaning house. Anything he did would be presented by his opponents as an attempt to interfere with “justice.” As soon as the impeachment was over, Trump did start cleaning house. Still, it takes time to lift every carpet to find the dirt.

In my opinion, Trump has had the most difficult first three years of any president. I believe he has handled the adversity better than anyone else could have done. People say things like, “I like what Trump’s done but I wish he wouldn’t (fill in blank.)” Well, that fill-in-blank is the only way he could have handled whatever issue was in contention at the time. He has done a masterful job.

Okay.
So how do we persuade Grassley to “put a hold” on that nomination for ever then?
Does anyone give two hoots about these nominations?
As long as Graham keeps the judicial nominee confirmations going at a rapid clip, that's all I care about.

The Impeachment Threat is over.

The Trump Administration needs to grow a set and start getting rid of these malfeasants.

We are less than 5 months away from the next election.

Grassley could barely read what he staff wrote for him at the Rosenstein hearing. Most likely his staff is pushing this nonsense.

This is how the congress treats Trump when he tries to get rid of anybody. It's been this way from the start. The senate republicans have done more to stop Trump then anyone.

99.99 % of those in D,C. are part of the Deep State. I think we may need a “ Lone Survivor” reality show to drain the Devil loving swamp

Agree.

I tell my suburban housewife friends who say they like him but hate his tweeting

I say I have no problem with the tweeting.

They say oh I don’t personally, but...

But nothing. He is set to take the next election and forge ahead. People will vote for him.

Republican women worry about Trump’s tweets while Democrat women happily pull the lever for Team Dem despite the fact that of our kids are being killed in Democrat sanctuary cities by illegal aliens.

Singing about Grassley as “Grazing in the grass, acting like an ass”.

Time to retire this old goat to the farm, the goat sausage farm that is.
