California Tried to Bail Out Illegal Aliens - and It’s a Disaster
Front Page Magazine ^ | Fri May 29, 2020 | Daniel Greenfield

The Golden State is showing its brass with more unemployed people than the entire population of Alabama. So, California’s leaders decided that this was an urgent time to bail out illegal aliens.

California’s illegal alien population is its shadow economy and with many of the industries that employ them shut down, the Democrats who depend on ghost districts populated by illegals decided that something had to be urgently done to keep the illegal aliens from fleeing back across the border.

Instead of illegal aliens having to file paperwork or show up at an office and present their undocumented passports, the giveaway was run through non-profits that help illegal aliens. Like a radio station contest, the illegal aliens had to call it to one of twelve non-profits to walk away with a grand.

Let's see I need to provide documentation that I am undocumented and get $1,000. What could go wrong?

No federal funds for sanctuary states and cities. Cal spends 26 bill a year on services to illegals and now 125 million to “stimulate” them.

Totally agree. If the people in CA continue to elect idiots like Boxer, Pelosi, Feinstein, Newsom and others, they made their bed, let them sleep in it...without any blankets from the rest of us.

My family, good pension, and an ocean view keep me here. It’s a very real circus here every day.

The family thing is tough, but there are plenty of significantly less expensive places on the ocean to live. Indeed, you might save enough to fly to CA several times a year and still be ahead of the game.

Some people wonder how Los Angles county alone has 112% registered voters.
Oh yeah vote by male is safe /s

Maybe they will just take the money and run back to where they came from.

Perhaps with the disincentive that there is virtually total lack of ANY employment opportunities, may be enough for large numbers of illegals to self-deport.

Except the border crossing BACK into and through Mexico are much more difficult than formerly.

Just one of the things that make a person go, “Hmm-hmmmm...”

My wife, a very conservative teacher, just got her pay cut 10% for California budgetary reasons.

Her state retirement fund is also in the tank with 1 year to go for her to retire.

You’d think Leftist teachers would be smart enough to understand their choice of leaders is wrong.

How much is that going to be worth when your family is threatened or worse by feral thugs, your pension is worthless due to inflation and the fact that all the stores have burned down plus nobody will deliver to you, plus your ocean view is obstructed by the smoke of the burning city?

Sir may I help you?
Yes I am here to apply for the $1,000 undocumented grant
Do you have your documentation to prove you are undocumented?
No I do not
Do you know it is illegal in California to claim you are illegal when you are legal and you will be turned over to the legal system?
So I don’t get the $1,000?
No you are a citizen and not deserving of aid just responsible for paying for it.

Like someone pointed out

Government workers are not ‘working’ but getting paid.
For the most part, non government workers are NOT getting paid.

Non government workers pay the salary of government workers. (yes the govt workers also pay taxes)

So the people who CAN’T work are ‘paying’ those that DON’T work.

Since Congress can’t/won’t go into session are we still paying their staffs?

Do all the security people still get full pay or are they laid off?

Remember in the last Government shut down, local restaurateurs and charities were providing meals and services for the laid off workers....
(Also, in BOs ‘shut down/cut back’ in order to keep the monuments closed, the normal implement of maybe 10 people to maintain the sites had to be raised to keep people OUT of the area....Government in action)

Does anyone recall the Politicians opening their cafeterias and gyms to the people THEY forced out of work?

But we have put ourselves in such a ‘Catch 22’ that the only way we can cut or suspend the pay of Pols is to have them vote on it....

GOOD LUCK....

You are only stuck there because you CHOSE to be.

Your pension can be spent in any other location.

Your family can come with you.

There are OTHER Oceans, also.

My family can’t practically come with me. I am 73 and been here since 1959. looking at the ocean and seeing my grandkids, no thanks. There’s more to life that the politics of the state.

Thanx for the advice. But no thanx.

My family doesn’t live in Feral Thug territory. They all have good jobs. Oceanside/Vista are fairly conservative, Camp Pendleton and retired military everywhere.

Same situation here in Illinois, I’ll be 75 in June, if the Lord allows it. I have 6 adult children, 26 grands and 9 great grands. Yeah, right, “just take them with me”

Simple people have simplistic answers for very complex situations.

The sooner califucu goes bankrupt the better for me just as long as there is no feral bailout.

Any state with a majority stupid enough to vote in the goberment they have deserves to pay for their stupidity. My own state is included and we all suffer.

Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

That’s a work of art.

Reminiscent of John Cleese in the Monty Python cheese shop scene.
