They promised that the National Guard would be on the streets of Mpls by 5 pm yesterday. Now we hear it will only be 500 of them, and they still aren’t here. My bet is that Walz has ordered them to not actually do anything to prevent or stop the rioting, looting and burning, just stand around and watch.

Minnesota has been the most liberal state in the Midwest for a long time. This is the home state of Hubert Humphrey, Eugene McCarthy, Walter Mondale, and Orville Freeman. Even the Republicans elected on a statewide basis have been RINOs, like Harold Stassen and Norm Coleman. Perhaps these riots will result in the state going to Trump in November. He lost Minnesota by only 40,000 votes in 2016.

What you say is true. But George Wallace was defying a federal court order to desegregate Alabama schools. President Kennedy federalized the Alabama National Guard to forestall Wallace’s use of them to defy the federal court order to desegregate.

The issue in Alabama was not about insurrection or domestic violence. It was to ensure a republican form of government, with the guarantees of 14th amendment rights and privileges for all Alabama citizens.
