President Trump is considering creating a panel to oversee complaints of bias against conservatives by social media platforms in a move that would likely spark pushback from tech companies.
The plans are still being mulled, people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal, but options could include the creation of a formal White House commission on the allegations.
Left-wing bias in the tech world is a concern that definitely needs to be addressed from our vantage point, and at least exposed [so] that Americans have clear eyes about what were dealing with, a White House official told The Journal.
Trump has repeatedly railed against social media companies over allegations that they suppress conservative voices, an accusation the platforms protest.
The president accused platforms in 2019 of "tremendous dishonesty, bias, discrimination and suppression practiced by certain companies."
"We will not let them get away with it much longer," he tweeted.

We need alternatives to facebook, twitter and utube. Lets bury them
I nominate Jim to be on that panel.
Where do I volunteer?
All Trump has to do is turn the United States Post Office into a social media hub.
Let everyone sign up for a secured email address for their mail, existing post office stations can be package hubs, and people can create their own page with all the functions of Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
The websites that I'm aware of, Spreely, MeWe, USA.Life, do not let the user maintain control over what content shows on their news feed. Every post that is posted to the websites shows up on the news feeds, and there is no way to stop it.
If they were allow the individual user the same type of control they have with FB and Twikker, then perhaps they would have more people visit their websites.
Yes, this!

YouTube used to put up videos similar to those I had been watching. In the case of Christian videos, I’ve noticed quite recently that I have a hard time finding them. I can watch one, refresh my YouTube and no further Christian videos are being presented. Maybe one if I scroll down a ways.
Once again POTUS does the heavy lifting while the do-nothing GOP Senate does what it does best: nothing.
Yes! Yes! Yes!
About darned time.
What's the principle that says these private companies can't be politically biased?
I think it's bad for business if they get too partisan so they'll keep it reasonable but why is it the federal government's business?
Hell Yes! Twitter hasn’t let me gain followers in three years.
Don’t bother.
If you can’t win with a market based solution, I guess you turn to goverment coersion.
These solutions use the public spectrum
Awesome idea... Full fledged public hearings on the leftist media and those who influence them.
Worth a listen.
