Were these vaccines already tested for some time, or were you in the military made the guinea pigs?
It’s likely that some of them weren’t tested as extensively as the civilian vaccines. Soldiers need to be prepared as well as possible for any missions that might be needed, wherever. The only very noticeable side effects for me were from one of them: fever and night sweats the following night or two. Not too bad. No serious side effects for the others in my units, either.
There was one in initial training who reacted to a smallpox vaccination—no joke. Instead of one little blister, he had a whole mess of them. He was rushed to the hospital but came right out okay.
Those of us who weren’t otherwise injured in training were very healthy for a few years in spite of fatigue and very unsanitary conditions at times for weeks.
