Cromwell (CT) Town Council Votes to Allow Businesses to Reopen Immediately
NBC Connecticut ^

Posted on 05/19/2020 4:55:50 PM PDT by matt04

The town of Cromwell had decided It will allow businesses that want to reopen to do so immediately, in opposition to Gov. Ned Lamont's executive orders and reopening plans.

In a meeting Wednesday, the town council voted 8-0 in favor of the decision, which will allow the town attorney to create a declaration allowing businesses in Cromwell that are willing and able to re-open immediately and to make a declaration to allow outdoor graduation. The declaration will be sent to the governor.

Reopening has been a contentious issue across the country. Some expressed harsh criticism of Lamont's plans Monday when he changed the date for hair salons to reopen from May 20 to June 1, two days before the salons had anticipated reopening. It was then than Mayor Enzo Faienza called for a special town council meeting to discuss the town's options for reopening.

When questioned about Cromwell’s intentions before the vote Wednesday and how he intends to enforce the rules if individual towns will not, Lamont said overall, there hasn’t been great need for enforcement because people have followed the rules set in the name of safety.

“Let’s keep our discipline a little bit longer,” Lamont said.

Sorry Ned, they are a "business sanctuary city."

That’s a good sign. Cromwell is not a rock-ribbed conservative area, though it has its refugees from Middletown and Hartford, to be sure. I went to grad school there for a while. Pretty typical Connecticut town. They also hit national news a while ago with that XY running as a girl, and winning all the prizes.

If Cromwell opens up, can Glastonbury, Cheshire, Woodbridge and Simsbury be far behind?

Good! So much in the news today of so many openings both officially sanctioned and otherwise. The lockdown is breaking up, with or without government approval.

I don’t want to hear a GD thing about “following the rules” from a bunch of elitist Leftists who have been flouting the idea of “sanctuary cities” and “undocumented aliens”.

Great news, Cromwell has a Republican council. I guess they want it open for the Travelers Open (Golf) at the TPC at River Highlands. I guess they want people to visit the town...

Before the 'powers' that be, can come up with a vaccine against it!

More Americans each day are acting like Americans and telling their Corona-dictator governors to go to hell.

What I see in the suburbs north of Philadelphia is downright snobbery. The white collar professionals have been working from home via zoom this whole time, and not missing a single paycheck. Select healthcare workers, government bureaucrats and other workers deemed “essential” got to keep their jobs. Schoolteachers are teaching from home or otherwise being made whole.

Meanwhile, lots of small blue collar contractors, bar and restaurant servers, and people in various entertainment fields, are laid off and reminded daily how “non-essential” they are.

From the conversations I hear, it is pretty obvious that when people talk about the need to stay closed a bit longer - they aren’t talking about themselves. They are almost exclusively well-off white collar snobs talking about how the bars and restaurants and diners need to stay closed.

The whole thing makes me sick to my stomach.

Same here in CT. Locally we have a bunch of FB nurses who haven’t missed a check, retired lib women or the work from home crowd who will tell anyone who even suggest we need to find ways to re-open inline with rules that grocery or big box retail is using is basically told to shut up and just stay home and wear your mask, why you missed 8 weeks of work, what’s two more. It’s just a little bit longer.

They also were/are the loudest it’s to soon to open, but I want it to open soon as my friend and I want a drink crowd.

Why would anyone get a patent on a deadly virus perhaps should be asked.

Bill and Melinda Gates have the Patent of the Corona virus.
You invented a virus and you invented a antivirus softwareprogram where you need to pay for

Then there is the following:

https://www.bitchute.com/video/DqVTFohx1O1X/

***** If anything is clear at this moment, it is the fact that no one is coming to save us. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. Though great forces have worked long and hard to divide us, our resilience, strength, and intelligence has been gravely underestimated. Now is the time to put all our differences aside. United we stand. Divided we fall.

Be brave. Share this video far and wide!*****

There is a thread in breaking news where Sen. Kamala Harris is making it illegal to call the Chinese virus the “Wuhan virus”

So maybe it should be called the Gates/Fauci virus?

OMG! I have referred to this scene in Close Encounters to many of my friends. “There’s nothing wrong with the air! The Government doesn’t want us to be here!” Then the old lady exclaims “Well, if the government doesn’t want us here, we shouldn’t be here!” (obedient mask-wearing fool)
