When Ravi Zacharias was a cricket-loving boy on the streets of India, his mother called him in to meet the local sari-seller-turned-palm reader. Looking at your future, Ravi Baba, you will not travel far or very much in your life, he declared. Thats what the lines on your hand tell me. There is no future for you abroad.
By the time a 37-year-old Zacharias preached, at the invitation of Billy Graham, to the inaugural International Conference for Itinerant Evangelists in Amsterdam in 1983, he was on his way to becoming one of the foremost defenders of Christianitys intellectual credibility. A year later, he founded Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM), with the mission of helping the thinker believe and the believer think.
Very sad. RIP.
My heart is saddened as heaven rejoices. Well done, thou good and faithful servent. Enter in the joy of the Lord!
I will miss him.
Wonderful and brilliant man.
Sad to hear he has passed.
One of my heroes. Go with God, Ravi.
Great loss to the world. Such a brilliant and gentle man.
Wondering if that palm reader in Ravi’s youth lived long enough to see the Truth?
Yes, sad news for us....but we know where he is now. And based on his well-founded and valiantly-defended belief, he couldn’t be happier.
He’s standing before his King and Commander.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Ravi Zacharias was one of the good guys, REALLY good guys. I enjoyed watching and listening to him over the years. Rest in peace, Mr. Zacharias. Enjoy your rewards in heaven. When I get there someday, we can have a nice talk.
Tough loss - brilliant man. He will be missed.
He has laid down his burdens and entered into his eternal reward, where there is no sickness, aging, hate, fear, hardship, illness, uncertainty, etc.
Ironic that something so sad can also be so happy. It’s only understandable from an eternal perspective.
Ravi was very much loved and revered in the Jewish community as well. He stood strong for the eternal authority of the Bible. His courage in the face of opposition is an example for us all. Baruch Dayan HaEmet.
A great and beautiful mind. A great and beautiful man.
How sad. I loved that man’s mind.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
A brilliant apologist who brought many skeptical non-belivers to Christ. He walked into the hostile audiences of countless college campuses and left triumphant. RIP
thank you, Ravi. we lost a great one. i did my bawling yesterday. now, just Joy, that the race has been run, that you are with Him.
A great Christian and man one of my favorite authors and speakers made an impact on many lives. He is home now. Prayers for his family.
