Attorney General Bill Barr said Monday he does not expect U.S. Attorney John Durham’s review into the origins of the Russia probe will lead to a “criminal investigation” of either former President Barack Obama or former Vice President Joe Biden -- while noting that their concern of “potential criminality” in the conduct of that probe is “focused on others.”
Barr did say, however, that “not every abuse of power, no matter how outrageous, is necessarily a federal crime.”
“As for President Obama and Vice President Biden, whatever their level of involvement based on what I know, I don’t expect Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man,” Barr said. “Our concern of potential criminality is focused on others.”
This comes after both Obama and Biden -- the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee -- have faced heightened criticism from Republicans for any potential role in the early stages of the probe. Trump last week even called for Obama to be summoned to testify before Congress.
The politically explosive environment -- bringing the country into uncharted territory, with a former president accused by critics of involvement in a political probe related to his eventual successor, and the sitting president now essentially calling for retribution against his predecessor -- has built ever since the DOJ moved to dismiss its case against Michael Flynn.

Barr is compromised just like Sessions. We knew this the moment he let Comey go.
It seems the vast majority of our nations leaders have turned on We the People.
It is a two tiered Justice system.
President Trump needs to fire Barr.
Seems like a pretty judicious statement to me.
Most likely the investigation won’t end up touching either of them, but if there is even a chance, Barr doesn’t want to tip his hand.
It would be nice to see that people who break the law GO TO PRISON.......Annnd not just we the people.....
They simply can’t go after the Kenyan from Indonesia without exposing the perfidy of ALL of our elected AND appointed. (excluding President Trump)

Barr is just an overweight version of Sessions.
I’m not happy with this statement by Barr, but please, based on what we know NO ONE compares to Sessions except Benedict Arnold, the Rosenbergs, etc. Trump’s comments on Barr vs Sessions are night and day.
Too partisan in appearance. Anyone surprised?

Ridiculous. Trump himself said there was no difference between the DoJ under Holder vs under Sessions. Meanwhile Trump has praised Barr, who has so far raddled the Dem/media establishment, which indicates he is doing far better than the Holder/Sessions DoJ ever did for justice.
I happened to hear Rush the other day and he said don’t expect Obama to be in trouble because in this country we just don’t go after ex-presidents...it could become a continuing blood bath if we did.
However, how many presidents have done what Obama et al did?

His words are pretty strong. I think many people deserve to go to prison for what they did to Trump (and our nation) for over 2 years.

I get the anger and I too feel angry about what happened. However, this was NOT a milquetoast statement by Barr today. He has the goods to back up what he said or he would not have said it.
I don’t know that anyone will go to jail and it would be very inappropriate for him to come out and say they will!
I ate the disappointment long ago and have said that a full accounting of what took place was the most important thing so Americans could judge for themselves. He has pretty much promised that today.
His comments today were blunt and unequivocal that the President was the victim of an injustice. He essentially said what many of us have been screaming for a long time.

This whole thing was bunk and he left open the potential that some of it was criminal.
Barr is not going to tolerate partisan hacks in the DOJ and he should say that. He said there will be an accounting of some sorts. At this point I will take it. Having the idea that Biden/Obama were somehow going to be dragged before a Grand Jury was a pointless exercise in futility and actually plays into the hands of the left and the media - i.e. - Trump is targeting his political opponents via his DOJ. That is not tolerable either and will just keep the hyperbole going.
Barr gave us a lot today and when you step back from the anger we all justifiably feel about what happened, it was a very strong statement that indicates that the Durham investigation is showing and in Barr’s own assessment - we were right.
The rest of it will be up to history......
P.S. - it will still be “Obamagate”
