Boy I am gladly taking back all of the things I’ve said regarding England as being done.
For a few years it did seem that way.
Italy next!!
One can hope :)

She said the new law gives the UK "full control of our immigration system for the first time in decades and the power to determine who comes to this country."Nice start...

“MPs to vote on bill which bans low-skilled immigrants from UK”
...shouldn’t that read “from entering the UK” ?

Have to ask if the UK government backed pension and Social Security follow the ‘gypsy’ workers who travel back & forth between countries for job opportunities?

A few years back I made a half hearted attempt to get permission from the Australian government to settle and work there.I wasn't intending to abandon or renounce the US...I just like Oz a *lot*.Long story short,I didn't qualify. It seems that they have a points system to determine eligibility.Things like good health, age,a good command of English, good character and a needed skill all earn you points toward the minimum needed for consideration.
I failed because of my age (younger = more points) and my lack of a *needed* skill (doctors and nurses earn more points than bank clerks).
IMO,that seems to be a very logical policy for a Western nation to have...if you can *contribute* something worthwhile you're allowed in.Otherwise,"no thanks".

The US, the UK, and all other countries should ban immigrants/refugees except for those whose presence is a net positive to the citizens of that country and to the working people of that country in particular. No welfare cases - ever. No unskilled workers. Then deport all illegals. No exceptions.
