Ron Sweed, Ghoulardi was cool too, But Ron is the one I grew up with, funny and irreverent.
Hey FROG. plunk yer magic Twanger over der!
Yeah, my question exactly. There's a horror community?!
Crap. Now Twitch has put a demented tranny/deer furry in charge of content. Just shoot me now.
>>The past couple days has seen two simultaneous bouts of drama rippling their way through Horror Twitter. One involves the furor surrounding the arrest of Dallas-based filmmaker Adam Donaghey for raping an underage girl who worked on a film he produced, 2017s critically-acclaimed metaphysical drama A Ghost Story (a movie already burdened with the presence of another man accused of sexual malfeasance, Casey Affleck.) The other involves, as has become something of a norm nowadays, Southern-fried horror host Joe Bob Briggs, as an article he wrote in August, mocking the ways LGBTQIA folk opt to define and brand themselves, began to make the rounds again.
An event from 2017 and an essay from August (nearly a year ago).
This is neither a “Trend” or recent.
These same fops are doing this to anyone with gray hair at the comic book and SF conventions (and I am referring to the nominees and guests, not the ticket holding customers).
They are ageist but we aren’t supposed to notice.
His rant sounds like vintage George Carlin!
TOTALLY AWESOME!
>>Both men have largely been supported by Cinestate, Dallas Sonniers Texas-based multimedia company that produces some of the most buzzed about films on the indie horror scene, films like Joe Begoss war-vet siege film V.F.W. and Keola Racelas testicle-popping Satanic comedy Porno, in addition to owning media companies like Fangoria, the newly back in print titan of the horror magazine industry, and Rebeller, an online film site that acts like a resource for outlaw cinema but has quickly taken on a decidedly right-wing bent. Sonnier has employed Donaghey on his films for several years, including on the two aforementioned films.
Hmmm. A testicle-popping Satanic comedy called “Porno” doesn’t sound like a “right wing” film to me.
Divide and conquer. As long as we’re fighting among ourselves, our “leaders” can proceed with their own agendas undisturbed.
>> and the right-wing website Taki, a site owned by a known Nazi sympathizer.
I’ve read a few of Joe Bob Brigg’s columns on Taki and may have even posted a few of them here over the years.
I may have seen a few article titles when I went there to grab the articles but again it seemed like a libertarian bent site.
“known Nazi sympathizer” sounds like actionable libel if these homofascists can’t back it up with evidence.
Plunk your magic twanger froggy!
>>According to Briggs, by allowing White Pride groups to become a despised minority who could be easily bullied, free speech faces a threat as city governments [only] go through the bare minimum of ensuring their free speech rights.
Antifa lynch mobs are on record saying that they’d rather assault innocent bystanders or protesters who aren’t white supremacists “than let a NAZI go unpunched”. They are militant Communists who will beat down who the F they want. And Communist AF says that ALL police are “fascists” just so we know where they are coming from when they use that F word.
Wow, then he sounds pretty normal.
One day the militant homos will finally be seen to have gone too far. They will be thrown back into the closet, the door will be slammed shut, nailed and set on fire. Nobody will be able to stop it.
They will have only themselves to blame.
>>Stephen Colbert understood this; he spent years playing a pompous right wing buffoon
Mitt Romney isn’t “right wing”. Mimicking “Mitt” isn’t satire or “role play”. It’s “Steppin’ Fetchit” style propaganda.
>>Im having trouble wrapping my mind around how anyone can defend Joe Bob Briggs, a man who said We need to start listening to these White Pride guys in the polo shirts and khaki pants in 2017. Why does Shudder (or anyone else) put up with this guy?
Do these Commie Clowns also revile the ACLU who defended neo-NAZIS in court?
This makes me like him even more.
>>Mesnard dismisses the nuances of Briggs writing and frames his comedic rhetoric as the singular need to punch down, whether its at women filmmakers,
It’s been a few decades since I read his review but I though he praised the woman who made Near Dark.
Not so sure
Wasnt Communist alert one of his common phrases?
These fags think every interest is a community, and they are the gatekeepers of every community.
Deliverance and Pulp Fiction do not count since they are not classed as horror movies.
Did not see Nightmare II.
