"You will respect my authoritah!" scream Democrat mayors and governors who have taken great pleasure in exercising powers they always knew they should have. Except we don't, and a growing number of Americans are tuning out the tiny tyrants. When Governor Gretchen Whitmer or J.B. Pritzker or Jay Inslee or Gavin Newsom opens his mouth or any of the exhausting municipal Marxists like Bill de Blasio and Lori Lightfoot starts barking orders, more and more Americans only hear "womp, womp, womp." That's a good thing. When elected representatives confuse their "public service" with titles of nobility giving them license to make demands beyond their delegated authority, Americans have a duty to just "walk away." America is a "safe place" from entrenched aristocracy. We rule ourselves here; elected "servants of the people" are meant to take care of the public chores we're too busy to perform ourselves. We pay them for this. In America, we're our own feudal lords and ladies.
For all their talk of the "little guy," the left sure does gravitate toward nobility and special classes with extra-special privileges. It's not just their obvious devotion before the altar of celebrity or fashionable "groupthink" causes. They are transfixed by titles of any kind. Because we kicked all the dukes and duchesses, barons and baronesses, earls and countesses back to the other side of the pond, the left confuses education with the "right to rule." Affixing "Dr." before their names has become the only opportunity for them to separate themselves from a sea of commoners. And after having spent decades trying to wean society from signaling simple respect by addressing each other as Mr., Mrs., Miss, or Ms., they are now often the only ones who demand verbal recognition of their special status.

Our elites are accustomed to announcing their Presence with “Do you know who I am!?” and “I am a Queen and I expect to be treated like a Queen!!”
And parking their armored black SUVs anywhere they like.
Just remind every elected official that they are OUR Servants, and that if I tell them to polish my shoes, they better be bring their shine box.

We see it over the pandemic ...”I’ll decide after I hear from the experts.” Grrr...how about use your common sense! Experts have been wrong on so many fronts these first 5 months of the year!
I hear it all the time in my work too. Make sure who you are working with is credentialed, certified, etc. Never hearing the word...experienced. It’s true across all walks of life, not just politics.
Stop and think for a moment about them closing the schools and colleges. Many saying they won’t open in the fall...they are separating us into educated and uneducated. You can’t distance learn and become a surgeon.
This whole scenario is dismantling the American landscape.
One class of Americans goes out of business, while another gets rich.
Now the nobility can and will, pick winners and losers.
Guess which group Trump-voters fall into.
One of the foundations of Progressivism was the necessity of being ruled by experts.
Modern society was too complex for an ordinary individual to understand, see... So experts had to make all the decisions for us.
The problem with that theory is an "expert" can be found for any policy decision you want, so the ruling class simply pick the experts fro the policies they desire.
It is a con game.
I think its more than that. I think the American Aristocracy is on its way to be hated, and potentially from some unlikely quarters.
Experts and Governors suck.
I used to work in a military medical clinic, in the IT department. People new to the clinic always came to the Systems shop first when in-processing, to have their computer accounts and access set up. One day a new, contract clinical psychologist came to us to in-process. Someone asked him if he was a "provider." He said, "I don't know; what's a provider?" The systems administrator then said, "Are you a doctor?"
Well, the guy's reaction to this was so hilarious that we all remembered it for years afterward. He put his arms akimbo, and in a very indignant voice stammered out, "Well, I, I, I, I, I, I, I ... I'm not a medical doctor! I have a PhD in clinical psychology, so yes, I'm a doctor, and that's what they call me. What difference does it make?"
It was as if we had challenged his manhood, his human worth, and his professional credentials, all in the simple act of asking him if he was a doctor! All we wanted to know was what level of access we had to give him.
You can usually tell a lot about someone with advanced degrees by whether they list them after their name or insist on being called “Doctor.” Like the LA County public health director listing all her irrelevant degrees, or “Dr.” Jill Biden.
I can give you this hint from my field: If you need a lawyer, run away if the lawyer lists “JD” after his (usually her) name. No real lawyer does this. Someone who lists JD is usually either a low rent lawyer or is not even licensed to practice law at all.
