A tourist from New York was arrested in Hawaii after he posted beach pictures on Instagram when he was supposed to be in quarantine.
The 23-year-old man was arrested for violating Hawaii’s mandatory 14-day quarantine rule and for “unsworn falsification to authority,” the Hawaii governor’s office said in a statement.
In an effort to stop the spread of the virus, the state requires travelers to the islands to self-quarantine for 14 days, without leaving their hotel room or residence. They are required to fill out a document acknowledging that violating the quarantine is a criminal offense punishable by a $5,000 fine and up to a year in prison, according to the state’s transportation department.
The state has extended the mandatory quarantine through the end of June, Gov. David Ige said in an online question and answer session.
Many visitors, including a newlywed couple on their honeymoon, have been arrested for ignoring the state’s quarantine orders.

We had the same problems with infected New Yorkers who fled their rat infested, corona virus infested, and generally nasty place to live and brought many cases of corona virus to Florida that in turn infected many Floridians.
Corona virus proved that New Yorkers are not as TOUGH as they like to think they are. As soon as the corona virus hit New York, thousands of them fled to other states. And in the process became the source for infections in those states.

So you mean to tell me that it is completely lawful for an established government to charge, fine and imprison non citizens who come into their jurisdiction and do things they say are against the law?

Work with a company with a Hawaii branch. They figured transferees were good for 5-8 years before they developed ‘island fever.’
I suspect howlies were made to feel unwelcome.
Everyone I know who moved to Hawaii, move back to the U.S. mainland with 3-4 years.
