It began when a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper found the 12-year-old boy walking alone along Highway T just across the St. Charles County line on May 2.
Bruises covered his face, legs and arms. When the trooper raised the child’s shirt, bruises dotted much of his torso, all in various stages of healing, according to court documents.
The boy told the trooper he had just escaped from his house along Highway OO. He had packed a bag.
And escaped only because his parents, Christopher Crets, 40, and Nicole Crets, 33, forgot to handcuff him to his bed that day, according to the documents.
“He’s very fortunate, he's walking in traffic, he’s just wanting somebody to stop and help them and a state trooper just happened to be the car coming down the highway,” Harrison said. “It just was an answered prayer for him."
“It was definitely this boy's time to be rescued. I mean, when you're hitting a little guy, or hitting anybody in the face and on the head, I mean, it's just a miracle that this boy wasn't seriously injured…His eyes were swollen, his forehead was swollen, this boy was beaten and tortured at the hands of mom and dad so I'm very happy that he slipped out and I'm glad the trooper was there and that my detectives and deputies were able to be part of rescuing him from the situation.”

There’s a special place in Hell for people that hurt kids. They get the millstone treatment.

They were starving him too. The article said they were other kids, not abused, but not how many. The parents are now in jail with bail denied.

The article says it’s his Dad and step-mother. I wonder if he’s the child of a woman they hate and the other kids are theirs.

I go back and forth between liking and hating someone I’m seeing right now but her two boys, whose father is in jail forever, will always have my love.
And if their real father ever did get out of prison again and lay a hand on them there’d be one less Puerto Rican in the world.
Kids don’t choose who they are born to or what person the mother or father decides to bring into their life.
I don’t want these people to suffer only in the afterworld. I want them to suffer now

I think yours is a more natural reaction but there are too many people who don’t think of kids that way.
Heartbreaking. This child is likely a victim of the shutdown. The article says they cuffed him to the bed to keep him from “stealing food”. It also says he weighed 115-120 lbs four months ago, but 75 lbs at the hospital.
The physical scars will heal long before the mental scars. God bless you young man.
May they never see the light of day again. Hopefully someone in prison gives them the true justice they both deserve. Rot in hell.

Under the circumstances that sounds like an extremely risky thing to do.
Give the parents the same treatment. Handcuff them to a door knob, beat them and starve them till their noses fall off. spit.
