When I first moved to FL about 12 years ago the issue in Fort Lauderdale was the design of public bathrooms at the beach. The mayor at the time wanted the doors to the stalls to start 12-18 inches off the floor so that it could be determined how many people were in a stall. It was an effort to curtail anonymous gay sex in public bathrooms at the beach. He was taken apart by LGBT groups and defeated in his next election. Things have gone further off the tracks in the ensuing years. So, this is about right for Broward.

Back in the 1970s, Broward was the bedroom community of Dade County’s commercial airline pilots. The percentage of NY and NJ transplants has taken over Broward.
Now, “half-naked” has replaced “shirtless”?
I know, i lived in Ft. Lauderdale for over 50 years. With one exception, Ron Cochran, every Democrat sheriff in Broward was corrupt or incompetent. Or both. This fiasco reflects badly on DeSantis,unfortunately, or at least the press will play it that way.
