Fake News Alert: NBC Deceptively Edits AG Barr's Comments on Michael Flynn Decision

NBC's Chuck Todd played a deceptively edited clip of Attorney General William Barr's response to a question regarding the attorney general's decision to dismiss charges against former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Not only were Barr's comments taken out of context, Chuck Todd accused Barr of not citing "the rule of law" when the attorney general specifically stated the "rule of law" in his answer.

"In closing, this was a big decision in the Flynn case, to say the least. When history looks back on this decision, how do you think it will be written? What will it say about your decision making?" asked CBS' Catherine Herridge during an interview with Attorney General Barr on Thursday.

"Well, history is written by the winner. So it largely depends on who's writing the history. But I think a fair history would say that it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law. It helped, it upheld the standards of the Department of Justice, and it undid what was an injustice," Barr responded.

NBC edited the video of Barr's answer to remove the whole "rule of law" part, and then Chuck Todd accused the attorney general of failing to cite the rule of law in his answer.

"I was struck, Peggy, by the cynicism of his answer," Todd began. "It's a correct answer. But he's the attorney general. He didn't make the case that he was upholding the rule of law. He was almost admitting that yeah, this is a political job."

The Daily Caller's Greg Price posted a video showing Barr's complete answer alongside the deceptively edited clip played by Todd and the NBC anchor's untrue attacks about the attorney general's answer.

Today on Meet The Press, @chucktodd wildly took context out of an answer AG Bill Barr gave about his decision to drop the case into Gen. Michael Flynn.

I cut Todd's segment along with Barr's full answer together. Look at how blatantly dishonest this is. pic.twitter.com/tODOEwL48V

NBC viewers watched a deceptive clip and heard lies about what a Republican said. That's meeting the press alright.

I wonder how Catherine Herridge feels about NBC purposefully deceptively editing her interview with Bill Barr? The MSM are lying scum and this is just another blatant example.

ImVho, there is a single appropriate word for anyone who believes the collection of intentional deceptions, FAR LEFT propaganda, outright lies, utter nonsense & foolishness that spewed onto print & broadcast media by “our betters”, to try to FOOL the general public: STUPID.

In an extraordinary public apology, NBC said Tuesday night that it erred in staging a fiery test crash of a General Motors pickup truck for its “Dateline NBC” news program and agreed to settle a defamation suit filed by the auto maker.

“We deeply regret we included the inappropriate demonstration in our ‘Dateline’ report,” said a statement read by NBC News co-anchors Jane Pauley and Stone Phillips Tuesday night. “We apologize to our viewers and to General Motors. We have also concluded that unscientific demonstrations should have no place in hard news stories at NBC. That’s our new policy.”

The apology, still being negotiated within five minutes of air time, was part of a settlement of a lawsuit GM filed Monday over film used in a Nov. 17 segment of “Dateline.”

These enemies of we the people fear nothing for they swerving their little god, the father of lies a murderer from the start. Chuck Todd is a prime example of how a dead soul servant of evil behaves. And isn’t NBC a member of the Disney house of Fraud?

IMHO...

It’s not so much they are stupid.

Most know exactly what is true and they choose to lie and deceive...just like their “messiah”, satan and his socialist protégée, Josef Goebbels.

Evil. Pure, unadulterated evil.

I don't know if this has been pointed out so far in the thread, but Chuck Todd is a lying POS.

Partisan Media Shills update.

B.S. I’d bet that they fully intended to run that clip as they did. But Todd had read the entire quote and the “rule of law” part stuck in his head.

I’ll bet his director nearly sh... the proverbial brick when he heard the phrase “rule of law” come out of Todd’s mouth, knowing he gave away the game.

This would have been an honest “apology”: “You’re correct. Earlier today we tried to use AG Barr’s own words to make our viewers think he’s just another Trump lackey. We’re only sorry we got caught this time. We’ll do better in the future.”

And I’m not even being cynical. This is how they roll, each and every day.
