Eleven members of the US Secret Service have tested positive for the coronavirus as of Thursday evening, according to Yahoo News.
Documents from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) seen by Yahoo News, revealed that the agency has 11 active coronavirus cases and an additional 60 employees who are reportedly self-quarantining. On top of this, another 23 members have already recovered from COVID-19, the diseases caused by the coronavirus.
It is not known whether the employees who tested positive for the coronavirus worked at the White House or if they had recent close contact with President Donald Trump or Vice President Mike Pence.
Both Trump and Pence get tested for the disease regularly but have not tested positive so far. However, Trump said this week that he would switch from having weekly to daily tests following the new cases, according to The Hill.
Justin Whelan, a spokesperson for the Secret Service told Yahoo News that the agency is following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
"To protect the privacy of our employee's health information and for operational security, the Secret Service is not releasing how many of its employees have tested positive for COVID-19, nor how many of its employees were, or currently are, quarantined," Whelan added.
The news comes as President Donald Trump revealed on Friday that Mike Pence's press secretary, Katie Miller, tested positive for the coronavirus. Miller, who is the wife of Stephen Miller — Trump's senior adviser, and primary speechwriter — confirmed her diagnosis with NBC News, adding that she was asymptomatic.
Ivanka Trump's personal assistant has also tested positive for the coronavirus, CNN's Kaitlan Collins reported.

While this article does explain things that are true, it begs conclusions that are wildly untrue.
This is just fear mongering. The vast majority of people who have moved to this level of crisis are over 70 years old.
So, showing pictures of 17 year olds that you have to dig into the text to find that its about the 49 year old mother who is an outlier.. is just manipulation

It stands to reason that we will be seeing far more cases being reported in coming weeks, as the testing becomes more widespread - but that is good news.
As the testing increases, two things will become evident: 1) the virus is far more common than they thought, and 2) the virus is far less deadly than they thought.
Remember, cases serious enough to cause death always get reported - it is only the mild cases that go unreported.
Therefore, the exponential growth in the number of reported cases caused by increased testing will NOT be accompanied by a proportional increase in deaths - those cases were already being reported.
The morbidity rate is gong to shrink by an order of magnitude.
They have families, go home after a shift, bring it back with them, children most likely culprit as real young don’t know to cough or sneeze in elbow, which contaminants clothes, pick 1 up you are now infected. Sneeze gets hair and exposed skin.
Should have reduced staff to single people who never left the WH.

Do you seriously think that somehow the White House staff or somebody would have leaked at in the White House to the public? Seriously? I have had better conversations with you in the past and I really don’t think I deserve that. Hoping that my family gets sick seriously? To top it off when I called my mom today to wish her happy Mother’s Day she said people are yelling at you on Free Republic I hadn’t even read it yet.

What must occur before you would join in with the growing demand that the governors end the lockdown of America and restore our liberties such as freedom to travel, freedom to reopen our businesses, freedom to engage in group activities such as sports, parties and concerts ... those sorts of things?
