Horowitz: This letter from Pennsylvania’s House speaker blows up the lockdown lie
conservative review ^ | · May 8, 2020 | Daniel Horowitz

Posted on 05/08/2020 11:10:35 PM PDT by conservative98

When pondering the enormity of the short-term and long-term effects of this destruction and how our government, absent strong intervention, will become increasingly a police state, read this letter from the speaker of the House of Pennsylvania, Mike Turzai, to get a sense of how we were lied to about the impetus for such drastic action.

Sadly, 3,106 of our citizens have died due to Covid-19. The average age of those that have passed away is 79 years old.

To date, of these 3,106 deaths, 2,108 of these persons lived in nursing homes, personal care homes and assisted living residences. That means 67.9% those who have died lived in these types of settings.

Of the 3,106 persons who have died, 11.9% had 4 comorbidities, 22.7% had 3 comorbidities, 27.2% had 2 comorbidities, 22.6% had 1 comorbidity and 11% had zero comorbidities. While these percentages only add up to 95.4%, these were the statistics that were provided to us verbally.

Of the 3,106 persons who died, 61% had hypertension, 54% had heart disease, 37% had diabetes and 30% had chronic pulmonary disease.

According to the Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), citing Pennsylvania Department of Health statistics, there are 37,000 beds in Pennsylvania hospitals.

As of today, 2,572 of these beds were occupied by Covid-l9 patients, which amounts to 6.95%.

There are only 539 patients in the hospitals on ventilators, which amounts to 1.46% of all hospital beds.

Hence, we chopped our proverbial head off to deal with a very defined and isolated problem. As I’ve chronicled, there’s nothing unique about Pennsylvania. This is the story of nearly every state, where 95%-100% of deaths were in nursing homes or among those with several underlying conditions, and the median age of death was either at or above life expectancy.

We knew from day one from clear studies of the Diamond Princess ship in early February that this was a problem almost exclusively for the elderly and those with three or four very specific ailments. All of our resources needed to be used to protect that vulnerable population in a targeted and strategic approach, as we do with nearly every public policy problem. Even after this became apparent, two to three weeks into the crisis, the politicians doubled down on failure and tyranny and are doing so to this day.

Our governments destroyed our entire country under the guise of caring about lives while they left the nursing homes vulnerable. We didn’t even kill the proverbial ant after using the nuclear bomb! We didn’t err on the side of caution; we erred on the side of obliteration. Now they are planning to do this intermittently in the future for viruses of even lower magnitude.

That’s 102%

,...................

Yes. The Speaker’s letter also states that our tranny health secretary is math-challenges and the percentages don’t add up.

I finally went in to a Walmart and there was no fabric on the shelves... nothing in the sewing line .. no thread..
_________________________________________________________

I’m aware of two sewing & quilting distributors who are open with reduced staff. Both have online retail. (No idea who supplies Walmart, but, I know of 3 notions distributors in the US.)

Checker Distributors in Maumee, OH
opened with reduced staff back in April
https://www.checkerdist.com/

Brewer Sewing & Quilting Supplies in Aurora, IL
opened quite recently
https://www.brewersewing.com/

United Notions/Moda Fabrics in Dallas, TX
no idea of current status
https://my.modafabrics.com/

Several years ago, many Walmarts dropped fabric and sewing notions. My area retained a reduced department, but it was debated for some time.

I think most of the distributors have some sort of discount plan based on total orders. I am not a customer of these businesses, but I supplied them all for over 30 years.

Also, look to see which Etsy shops are still in business.

They seem to have store locations on their websites, but I’m pretty sure you can order direct from online catalogs. I have no idea how much of their inventory comes from China. I expect all supply chains to be glitched for a while.

As to the progs:
I’m convinced that when Trump won, they decided we could not be happy and that figures in to their 24/7 hatefest. They have to ruin anything they don’t control and if they are miserable, everyone must be miserable.

They keep saying biden is ahead of Trump

Of course and he will remain ahead. But that's a national poll and has nothing to do with the election.

Our “political class” didn’t fail here. AMERICANS failed ... by falling all over themselves to buy into this hysteria and surrender their God-given rights. Even many of the “freedom-loving conservatives right here on this website were exposed as pathetic, cowardly frauds in the last two months.

Age is a factor when looked at from an economic viewpoint. There was no reason to lock up our young and healthy work force to protect retired Americans with at least one comorbid health condition.

‘I don’t quite get the theory behind the rationale. ‘

I guess it escaped your notice that governors usurped powers not allotted to them and systematically locked down entire segments of states’ economies, threatening the long term sustainability of supply and demand considerations...

Sadly, even those numbers may be inflated, all for dramatic effect and for payments they receive by making such claims.

This virus is, like all viral infections including the flu, are dangerous to those with weakened bodies, but there was no reason to kill the country over it.

Our governments destroyed our entire country under the guise of caring about lives while they left the nursing homes vulnerable.

It went beyond leaving nursing homes vulnerable in NY.

Cuomo actually ordered COVID patients be SENT to nursing homes.

He essentially dictated the deaths of hundreds of individuals. He has blood on his hands that he will answer to his Maker for some day.

NOT SICK!

EVIL!

It's deliberate, not something that cannot be helped.

It would seem hard to make a case for conspiracy when the entire world is doing the same thing. That includes Russia. Somehow some folks think that all countries of the world and their leaderships have joined a preplanned conspiracy to take extreme actions in response to something that they’re sure is no worse than SARS or flu.

There’s not really much point in quoting statistics anymore because there are so many numbers floating around that point in all sorts of different directions that none of them can persuade anyone of anything.

It is also a little disquieting to hear folks who think that herd immunity is going to take care of all of this (because that’s Nature’s response to a new disease in Nature) then say the disease is not natural and was created by man in a lab. That’s quite a disconnect. If that’s how a naturally occurring disease is handled why do we think that’s how a non naturally occurring disease gets handled?

there was no reason to kill the country over it.

Which brings us back to the point of my argument. By protecting the people living and working in care centers, we can cut the number of Covid-19 deaths in half. With half the number of fatalities, there is no good reason to shut down the economy.

‘If that’s how a naturally occurring disease is handled why do we think that’s how a non naturally occurring disease gets handled?’

who is saying this is an unnaturally occurring disease...? it is a particular strain of coronavirus, well know to occur in animals, but having transmitted to humans, making it new to us, or novel...even if it were created in a lab environment, its elements would have come from natural carriers, like bats, even if it were being engineered, either to find an improved protection against coronavirii, (most likely) or as a bio weapon (conspiracy territory)...
