I would hope that he is already taking HCQ and zinc. Surely the President’s doctors are giving him plasma from recovered COVID patients to prevent him from getting it. I might not understand the whole plasma antibody thing but wouldn’t it protect the President?

My example was an aircraft carrier and a one man row boat, make a big net with holes small enough to catch the aircraft carrier, it will catch the aircraft carrier, but the holes are big enough that the row boat just glides right through.
Unless your wearing biolab grade equipment, a store bought or home made face mask is pretty much worthless.
2 million out of about 7 billion is still an insignificant number, understandably not to the people who lose a loved one, but still insignificant.
2.2 million dead was the initial upper estimate for deaths in the US alone in a do-nothing scenario. Even with the massive lockdowns and measures put in place around the country, we’re still looking at around 135,000 deaths per most estimates assuming things don’t take a turn for the worse (like Spanish flu did in the fall after the first wave). Looking area by area within the states, some places overreacted and some places didn’t react strongly enough. Obviously we need to find ways to have the economy moving, but we also have to consider that we’re dealing with a serious bug here.
I really hope the President and VP Pence are staying safe. Scary that this thing keeps getting literally within arm’s reach of both of them. We can’t afford to lose either of them.

I’m not a doc either but from little I know you are correct in saying antibodies should protect him if they are being used.
In any case I am sure any and all precautions are being taken to keep him safe.

President Trump told reporters Friday that Miller hasn’t come into contact with him but has “spent some time” with the vice president.
“She is a wonderful young woman, Katie,” he said. “She tested very good for a long period of time. And then all of a sudden today she tested positive.”
“So, she tested positive out of the blue,” he continued. “This is why the whole concept of tests aren’t necessarily, right, the tests are perfect but something can happen between a test where it’s good and then something happens and then all of a sudden, she was tested very recently and tested negative.”

Do you not understand that wearing a mask is to protect others if you are sick, as Katie Miller was unknowingly sick and could spread it to others by not wearing a mask? Nobody claims that the mask protects the wearer. Unfortunately we’re at risk from the selfish and uninformed.
