Ohio's governor just slashed $700M+ from the budget for the current fiscal year. In Pennsylvania, thousands of state employees who had been on "paid furlough" at the start of this fiasco were moved to "UNPAID furlough" in mid-April.
These governments can't operate without tax revenue, and that's starting to become obvious now.
Yesterday, I visited a manufacturing plant to check on an ongoing project.
Effective May 1, they went on a 3 day work week. Their orders for parts they turn out by the thousands effectively dried up as their customers suffered from lack of sales and new orders.
