Federal prosecutors looking into White House-connected doctor who touted hydroxychloroquine: Report

Prosecutors are scrutinizing communications between a New York doctor with ties to the White House and conservative commentator Jerome Corsi.

Records of Dr. Vladimir Zelenko are being examined by Justice Department lawyers after his associate, Corsi, accidentally emailed former Mueller investigation prosecutor Aaron Zelinsky a message meant for the doctor.

In response, Zelinsky, who scrutinized Corsi's behavior during the 2016 election while on special counsel Robert Mueller's team, emailed Corsi's lawyer and requested all communications sent to and received from Zelenko, according to a report by the Washington Post on Thursday.

Zelinsky prosecutes coronavirus-related crimes in the U.S. attorney's office in Maryland, an endeavor that's part of Attorney General William Barr's push to go after fraud related to the pandemic. The Justice Department has charged an assortment of people with fraud, pursuing those who attempt to sell fake cures for COVID-19 and personal protective equipment not in the seller's possession.

Wow. Either the Feds plan to try Dr. Zelenko for presenting his protocol to the world, or (much, much less likely) round up the governors that issued edicts that denies early use of HCQ to actually stop the virus from replicating and doing more damage.

FWIW, I inadvertently substituted "Zelenski" for "Zelenko" in one of my comments, and saw it carried thru threads by another commenter. The prescience of FR should not be underestimated!

In what sense does this doctor have "ties to the White House"? I doubt he has any personal connection to anyone there; as far as I know, his only "ties" are that he uses HCQ - which Trump has touted - in his CV treatment.

Or maybe he had one or two phone conversations with Trump or someone on his staff, conversations like they've probably had with dozens of other doctors and researchers.

I think that hydroxychloroquine is being used successfully in other countries around the world. It would be really something if it turns out that using HQ early, especially in combination with the Zithromax and zinc. actually prevents people from getting to the point where they need the ICU.
