My husbands favorite line to me and others who complain about all the injustices mentioned in the article, he pauses for effect and says, “What are you going to do about it, Vote?
I’ve got a job that allows me to work from home.
Millions of people don’t/can’t.
How long do we give the “good people working day and night to solve the problem” to solve the problem?
What happens when we tell all those involved in the production of food to stay home, because a lot of them are COVID-infected? Or do we tell them to take a side of beef or pork home to butcher in their bathrooms, and then bring it back to the plant for distribution?
Just curious....what job have you “adapted” to, from home, during this shut down and economic obliteration?
I’m sure many out-of-work people, here, would appreciate your sharing this.
I am a mechanical engineer and have a 3-D CAD design computer. I send my drawings to protyping companies, assemble my assemblies, test them and send them in to my company.
My wife teaches 2nd grade using Zoom live sessions with her students.
We have adapted.
As long as we can - but we have to be willing to hang in there, to endure what we have to, to give them time.
Know anything about the 1918 epidemic? This one may be that big, soon.
I cant help being irritated at conservatives who havent got the intelligence to see that 50,000 dead Americans in one month is a serious problem.
These are the same kind of conservatives I knew in my generation who sat out our war for whatever excuses they could come up with.
We have adapted.
= =
Yes.
With two very basic types of jobs that the majority of those whove lost their jobs can adapt to, as well.
(No /sarc tag needed.)
Look, I get that there are a minority of good income producing jobs that can be done from home.
As well as a lot of Americans who are retired from good paying careers that pay them a decent pension, or retirement benefits.
But, for the rest of the American workers, their jobs cannot adapt to be performed at home.
Theyve stayed at home for FIVE weeks, going on SIX weeks, now.
We were told, by the GOOD and smart people advising POTUS to give them TWO weeks, to flatten the curve.
Then, it became an additional week. Now, were going on SIX weeks.
We flattened the curve and have killed the economy.
Yet, the leftist goalposts keep moving.
Anyone in support of continued lockdowns for all, is working against this country.
And anyone pushing to open everything back up now is saying "we're fine with thousands more dying".
Take your pick.

In other words, you and yours have jobs and also you and yours have no idea what it takes to build, run, and sustain a small business. Got it.
You expect millions of Americans to be sacrificial lambs on the altar of a crashed economy while you have absolutely no skin in the game.
OMG this no more of an emergency than the Hong Kong flu was look up the stats of that flu YET we all worked our businesses were NOT run into bankruptcy the country was NOT locked down, with that flu women, children, men ALL ages died this virus is ONLY dangerous to those with obesity, diabetes, pre diabetes, hypertension and elderly this is NOT AN EMERGENCY!!!!
You are a complete idiot, it is just great that you and your wife can adapt how wonderful for you how in the HELL to restaurants adapt, the thousands of cooks and servers the restaurant owners you are BEYOND SELFISH so glad YOUR life is OK!!!
One way our country survives. The other way it doesn't.

Did we shut-down the entire country for 18 months for the Spanish flu?
I seriously doubt it. We were fighting a war, needing to build rifles and ammunition and ships and airplanes.
Considering that to the best of my knowledge, there has NEVER been a safe and effective vaccine developed for ANY strain of coronavirus, you’re advocating shutting-down the country for decades.
That’s daft.
The elderly, the obese, those with diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. need to stay isolated.
Those who regularly interact with those people need to stay isolated.
Everyone else needs to get back to work.
ESPECIALLY those involved in getting food from the ground to the grocery stores.
Everyone in this country has complied to flatten the curve.
Again...it’s flat.
How many people do you suggest stay at home, and how many businesses are you suggesting stay closed....and, for each, how long, exactly?
The historic job creation, that Pres Trump did for hispanics and blacks....highest employment numbers for them, EVER, have been completely erased.
How and when do you, oh expert on this subject, get THOSE jobs back??
Bump
No longer willing.
When our Rulers call for "sacrificing", they mean yours, not theirs.
“...50,000 dead Americans in one month is a serious problem.”
Your information is faulty. The numbers we are looking at started being tallied in January. Even if we count from the end of January, we are looking at 50,000 deaths in THREE months, *half* of which are from NYS and NJ alone, and the other half from the entire rest of the country.
This coronavirus has a widespread infection rate, very limited death rate, and 92-98% of people recover from it completely. Of those who die, 90-some-odd percent have underlying comorbidities. It is very similar to the flu, which routinely takes the lives of 50,000+ per year.
It is apparent that you are married to an NEA liberal who is influencing your thinking.
Are YOU "fine" with thousands (and more) dying from suicide, domestic abuse, substance abuse, neglect--including neglected health screenings, testings, and procedures--for the sake of a minority of folks, mostly already confined like prisoners in "nursing homes"? This "cure" will prove equal or worse than the disease.
