Agree that NYC is not America. What does seem to be America-wide though — maybe even worldwide is the sad fact of nursing homes :( and the sad situation this is with or without a pandemic.
We need God’s wisdom with regard to how we treat the elderly. And that is one major thing this Covid virus reveals .
You need to be more specific. The sad fact of medicaid nursing homes (Kent WA, Mt Airy MD, Richmond VA) is that underfunding and understaffing lead to poor infection control in people who were doomed to die pretty soon. COVID seems to be ripe for that environment since it doesn't take 1000's of particles to infect a patient like it does for healthy people.
The sad fact is we put a certain number of old people into oxy warehouses to wait for them to die. There are many high quality nursing homes and assisted livings with infections but no widespread death.
And the Lord sayeth, hasten thee not unto a nursing home, for the funeral home layeth next door.
