Hundreds of travelers, motivated in part by $100 airfares, are still crossing the Pacific to ride out the pandemic in Hawaii. If I had any desire to go to Hawaii, I might jump on that.
But it is a long flight and the only way I would go is to fly First Class.

They whine about the visitors bringing disease and they whine about the tourist dependent economy cratering. Can’t have it both ways. Just invest in some test kits and test everyone coming off the planes from the mainland. Just as fast as X-raying all luggage for food.
There is enough beach space in Hawaii that nobody needs to crowd anyone except maybe Wakiki which can close permanently for all I care.
