While Pelosi Fiddles, McConnell Plans Additional Senate Session to Help Small Businesses and Workers

Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced an unplanned Senate session will take place Tuesday as Democrats continue their refusals to restock funding for the Paycheck Protection Program.

“It’s now been four days since the Paycheck Protection Program ran out of money. Republicans have been trying to secure more funding for this critical program for a week and a half. At this hour, our Democratic colleagues are still prolonging their discussions with the Administration, so the Senate regretfully will not be able to pass more funding for Americans’ paychecks today," McConnell said in remarks on the floor Monday.

“However, since this is so urgent, I have asked that the Senate meet again tomorrow in a new session that was not previously scheduled, and the Democratic Leader has agreed to my request," he continued. "It is past time to get this done for the country.”

In the meantime, House Democrats led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi are doing everything they can to keep the program dry unless far left agenda items are inserted into a final bill.

On the interim coronavirus bill being negotiated now:
Rep. @PramilaJayapal says she has "real concerns about giving away leverage now without getting some of the priorities that we need."

Rep. @AOC: "If it matches up with what has been reported, I will not support this bill"— Natalie Andrews (@nataliewsj) April 20, 2020

Over the weekend President Trump said he was hopeful a deal with Democrats could be made, but cautioned there is still work to do.

"We're negotiating with the Democrats. And you know, they negotiate for things that we can't do, that we don't think are in the best interest of the people of this country. We are very close to a deal.  I can't tell you whether or not we're going to get the deal or not," Trump said Sunday at the daily Wuhan coronavirus task force briefing. "We have a good chance of getting a deal. A lot of good discussions were had today.  And we have a good chance of getting the deal.  We want the deal. We want to take care of our workers, and we want to take care of our small companies."

McConnell better read closely any democrat plan. They are pushing vote by mail, knowing that’s the best chance to cheat and win the election in November.

In the Civil War, Lincoln went around the Appropriations Clause and funded the emergency money needed. Trump should do the same in this emergency.

Mitch - no add on’s by the democrats - no pork - and definitely nothing for the media. CNN is big-time financial straits, no bail out, NONE!!!

Play hardball with those misfits.

He’s doing this to keep the senate in session so Trump can’t make recess appointments. Trump said he would adjourn congress if they wouldn’t. Mitch suddenly comes up with extra sessions for “senate business”.

BS.

How about this: just say no.

Trump can tell the states to open up. And tell the blue states he will VETO any bailout of their cities and union pension funds.

Too bad all federal funds to sanctuary cities cannot be redirected to saving these small businesses. We should not be rewarding lawbreaking states with funding when we should be rescuing millions of jobs of Americans.

Good point. I think that the Civil War is actually about the closest comparison we have. In this case, it’s the West Coast, the Northern Midwest and the NE states that’s are essentially seceding, violating the Constitution and taking over powers that they don’t have.

While I live in the South now and have always thought that Southern states had some points to make and were cynically manipulated by South Carolina into pledging allegiance to slavery and the SC way of life, Lincoln needed to do what he did.

THOUGHTS ON SPARTACUS

It’s been years since I first saw the excellent Kubrick film “Spartacus”.
I just stumbled upon it here: https://www.bitchute.com/video/kmfskD1EHTUo/ (where you can watch it FREE, sans commercials).

As I watched it again, I was reminded of the asinine comment by the Democrat buffoon (but I repeat myself) of the Senate, Cory Booker, that “I am Spartacus” during one of the idiotic efforts to take out President Trump.

Booker’s initials “C.B.” more appropriately stand for “COMPLETELY BRAINDEAD”, “COMMUNIST BLOWHARD” and several others I shan’t specify lest I offend.

If you know the story, watch or re-watch the film, here’s why C.B.’s comment is moronic:
Spartacus was a SLAVE who fomented and led a REVOLT against his self-entitled Roman oligarch masters.

If prevaricating, duplicitous, scandalous MARXIST Democrats get their grimy hands on the levers of POWER in November, ol’ “C.B.” would NOT be the SLAVE, let alone SPARTACUS: He and his fellow travelers would be the masters of the approximately 40% of the electorate comfortable with their status as SLAVES!

It would be the approximately 60% of us who supported Trump who would have to become Spartacus to return America to the vision of the Founding Fathers.

And, NEXT TIME, SPARTACUS BETTER WIN!!

and other Administration nominations that have been unfulfilled for years. McConnell has failed at this. There is plenty for the Senate to do without the House

Pelosi is useless, unless you want large refrigerators, ice cream, or impeaching Trump.

Pelosi’s obstruction of the smooth flow of help to small businesses is worthy of impeachment!
She is a true threat to the recovery from the Covid-19 virus.
Boiling her rotten carcass in oil would be suitable punishment.

Partner, this is the way to go since we have that "Nancy Pelousy Is The Speaker of the House" and she is the Worst Speaker of the House ever.

"Nancy Pelousy" wants to continue her shanigans since she hates President Trump since she can not be kicked around like she did W.

What, you can’t let a good crisis go to waste. This is a great opportunity to get funding for unPlanned Parenthood , global warming carbon emissions on airplanes. That will solve the coronavirus epidemic.
