“Do you think there are 330 million test kits available? “

That’s the problem, we haven’t put a priority on scaling up for mass testing. And no, I don’t think that’s an impossible task for the US of A, if it were prioritized.

Live in Michigan. My wife has been diagnosed as suspected Covid-19 and had to go to ER multiple times but they couldn’t test her. One of the doctors desperately wanted to give her a test but legally they couldn’t. Have to be a healthcare worker, in 3rd trimester of pregnancy, have serious existing health condition (one is at least 10% reduced lung function), or be at least 60(possibly 65). It’s ridiculous and all established by Whitmer.

We need to re-open what we can where we can.”

That’ll be damn little until there is testing to assure employers that 1) they’re not hiring virus-carriers; and 2) that their customers are safe from other people who have the virus.

just as in Taiwan, testing will be the key to opening the economy. The governors could decree it’s open, but until employers and customers are confident they won’t get infected by virus-carriers, the economy will be mostly closed as a practical matter.

The governor of Michigan could become a libertarian tomorrow and tell you that you’re free to go on a Carnival Cruise. Would you do so even though you were “free” to? You wouldn’t, and most others wouldn’t either, me included.

However, if everyone had to take a 15 minute corona test before being allowed to board, I’d go that cruise!

All we need to know is hospitalized cases and deaths are down. First of all there is no evidence the lockdown has done anything. Second mass testing is useless unless you want to test everyone daily. I could be negative this am but get it from someone this pm

Mass testing is needed to open the economy.

Why? To what purpose?

You test negative, it means you have not been exposed.

You test positive it means you have been exposed and are either:
A. Newly exposed
B. You were exposed long ago and were asymptomatic.

You plan on not “mixing” exposed and non-exposed? Are non-exposed supposed to wait for a vaccine that may never be available? (Covid-19 is a corona virus meaning it is related to common cold viruses. See any vaccines for common colds?)

“Second mass testing is useless unless you want to test everyone daily. “

No, if we have a quick, 10 or 15 minute test, it can be used by venues to check their customers before letting them in. This is precisely what is proposed by some sports league executives.

Ultimately, it is businesses that are going to be demanding that prospective employees and customers show that they’re not virus-carriers. In that sense, the politicians are irrelevant. Businesses don’t want to become the next carnival cruise.

To keep the economy open, the way Taiwan has done it, by testing people and letting those who test negative keep working.

I’ll admit it.

I have no idea how corporate bathrooms or break areas will be kept clean. Then, there’s the entire range of Google/Apple open seating bull pens and the breeding of viruses on all kinds of surfaces. These are the things that worry me, as they are not easily changed.

B.S... I just went to three different stores... Even with the ‘mandatory’ mask directive I see the stores are not enforcing it...

Did you even think about what you just wrote? You are going to delay 60k people in a line while you test saxh one for 10’or 15 min? Try thinking that through again. Ditto with customers. I’m not getting my finger stuck and waiting 15 min before I go into a restaurant and that’s it if I dont have to wait for the test because they are testing others. Talk about unrealistic!

Sure. because all tests are 100% particularly when administered by disinterested and bored employees. And please tell me how you are going to test 4000-6000 people in 10—15 minutes? Unless you plan on thousands of employees all doing the test at once. Test them a week before the ship leaves? then they might be infected in the interval time. Testing is not the panacea you think it is

So sorry for what you and your wife are going through. I have a theory, I think we aren’t testing everyone because the numbers have to go up in the next two weeks. That way she can keep things locked down and wait, enhancing her political resume. I suspect that the testing will ramp up now, before the end of this last EO is over. My whole point of posting this article is to draw attention to the graph the governor used, that is pictured in the article. It’s doctored to dramatically show that her stay home order is working. If you look at the y axis on the right side, you see it. The numbers don’t seem right compared to the graph. It’s exaggerated. I would love to have the media see this, love to see Tucker Carlson use it. A guy on Facebook made a graph in AutoCAD that showed the way the graph would look if an honest person made it. I don’t have permission to share it here but could possibly post a link to it on Facebook.

Taiwan does mass testing to keep its economy open

The U.S. has tested 4 million people. Taiwan has tested 53 thousand people.

The U.S. has tested 12 thousand people per million population. Taiwan has tested 2.3 thousand people per million population.

What are you talking about?

A law will have to be introduced that prohibits taxing state residents while they are being involuntarily quarantined.

Because it would take years to test 300 plus million people?

and by the time you're done, covid-20 will be the new culprit

... wash, rinse, repeat

It is the left narrative.

The CDC says otherwise.
